Time-to-event data arises from measurements of time till the occurrence of an event of interest. Such data are common in the fields of biology, epidemiology, pub- lic health, medical research, economics and industry. The advancement of data acquisition technologies and computing resources have greatly facilitated the analysis of massive data sets in various fields of sciences. Researchers from different disciplines rigorously investigate these data sets to extract useful information for new scientific discoveries.
