The Impact Of Authentic Leadership Behavior On Employee Engagement And Organizational Ethical Culture In Nigeria, Adayehi B. Peter

Human Resource Development Theses and Dissertations

Authenticity in leadership is an old phenomenon that has recently sparked a new research interest in management and the human resource development (HRD) literature (Peus, Wesche, Streicher, Braun, & Frey, 2012). An upswing in highly publicized corporate scandals, management malfeasance, and broader societal challenges facing public and private organizations has contributed to the recent attention placed on authenticity and authentic leadership (Walumbwa, Avolio, Gardner, Wernsing, & Peterson, 2008). Authentic leadership behavior allows leaders and organizations meet the raised expectations of fairness, morality, and social responsibility held by employees and organizational stakeholders (Kiersch, 2012).

The primary purpose of this study was …

Beyond Towel Recycling: Sustainability As Hotel Business Strategy, Milton Almeida, Dr. Ann Dale, Dr. Gyan Nyaupane

Travel and Tourism Research Association: Advancing Tourism Research Globally

With the push towards more sustainable living, hotel leaders need to consider how they can make their operations more sustainable. While the general business line of “growth at all costs” is rapidly giving way to a view that supports sustainability as good business practice; hotel leaders who seek to make their businesses, and by extension their communities, more sustainable need to use business models that support environmental, economic, and social sustainability. It is incontestable that the primary goalof commercial businesses is profit and that hotel leaders must meet goals and targets focused on improving shareholder returns. I contend, however, that …

This article relates the history of the congregation before the intervention, outlines the process of the intervention, from its theological underpinnings to the development of the curriculum, and finally, examines the efficacy of this intervention.
