Providing Access To Healthcare For The Uninsured Via Shepherd's Hope, Azeem Hakim
High Impact Practices Student Showcase Fall 2023
According to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2021, the population of uninsured individuals from the ages of zero to sixty-four in Orange County had a slight upward trend when compared to the two prior years, with roughly 182,054 uninsured patients living within Orange County in 2021. If so many of Orlando’s citizens in Orange County don’t have health insurance, and thus, are barred from being able to access quality healthcare, how could sustaining the vibrancy of our local community be possible, especially when many of these uninsured patients help keep the Orlando area functioning day to day? This is where …

The first focus area was Citizenship and how I attended an “Industry BBQ” with the hopes of gaining valuable information to share it with other engineers. The second focus area was about leadership and my role …

China Maritime Report No. 27: Pla Navy Submarine Leadership - Factors Affecting Operational Performance, Roderick Lee
CMSI China Maritime Reports
The way the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) selects and manages its submarine officers increases the likelihood of human performance errors onboard a PLAN submarine. First, PLAN submarine officers are selected from applicants with among the lowest college entrance examinations of any PLA educational institution, suggesting that PLAN submariners are among the service’s least talented officers. Second, the Party Committee system at the apex of decision-making aboard PLAN submarines may be less agile than other approaches to command, at least in certain circumstances. Lastly, while the policy of embarking flotilla leaders senior to the submarine captain may reduce some of …

High Impact Practices Student Showcase Fall 2023
Our project’s goal is to share our experience of volunteering with SERV; an environmental service organization located in Seminole County whose mission is to clean and restore local waterways and parks. Some of the things we did with them range from removing trash at local park to getting down and dirty, planting native water plants at a lake in order to slow and prevent shore erosion. These events SERV held showed us the benefit of serving our community: it made sure community areas stayed clean, that local lakes would stay healthy for the public to enjoy, and allowed us to …
