A tissue culture chamber is described that introduces the concept of a fixed platform within a "perfusion type" chamber. The platform is made of stainless steel mesh covered with a membrane of reconstituted collagen. The collagen membrane serves as the supporting substratum for the cultured tissue and is of such an optical quality as to permit phase-contrast microscopic observation of the tissue.
