Effects Of Different Tooth-Conditioning Agents On Bond Strength Of A Resin-Modified Glass-Ionomer Cement To Enamel, Ahmed Alammary

Al-Azhar Journal of Dentistry

The purpose of this study was directed to evaluate the effects of different toothconditioning agents on shear bond strength of resin-modified glass– ionomer cement(Fuji III LC) to enamel as well as on dissolution of calcium ions from the enamel surfaces.Methods. The enamel surfaces of lower incisors were treated with 10 and 20%polyacrylic acid, 12% citric acid and 35% phosphoric acid for 20s. Fuji III LC wasapplied to the etched enamel surfaces, and the shear bond strength of each specimenwas measured using an Instron Universal Testing Instrument. The amounts of calciumions dissolved from the treated enamel surfaces were also measured using …

Relationship Of Facial Measurement For Determining The Vertical Dimension In Young Adult Saudi Students, Nehad Harby Apr 2017

Relationship Of Facial Measurement For Determining The Vertical Dimension In Young Adult Saudi Students, Nehad Harby

Al-Azhar Journal of Dentistry

There is no specific scientific method for determining the correct edentulous occlusal vertical dimension. In this study, the establishment of the proportion between the ear-eye to chin-nose distance to determine occlusal vertical dimension.200 dentulous Saudi students participated in this study. The chin-nose and eareye (right & left) distances were measured; the results showed that there is a correlation between these measurements; also this study showed that this facialmeasurement may be used to predict chin-nose distance and determining occlusal vertical dimension in edentulous patients of the Saudi population in combination with some other methods, which have proved to be helpful

The Effect Of Using Ultra Suction System On Mandibular Complete Denture Retention, Fatma Sayed, Mohamed Sanad, Ola Omar, Hanaa Youssef

Al-Azhar Journal of Dentistry

Aim of the study: This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of using ultra suction system on mandibular complete denture retention and on the rate of growth of candida albicans. Material and methods: Ten completely edentulous patients participated in this study. Each patient recived two dentures a conventional mandibular denture(D1 denture) constructed using heat cured acrylic resin and an ultra suction retained denture (D2 denture) which was constructed using heat cured acrylic resin with ultra suction system added to it. Patients were left to function with each denture set for a period one week, one month, three months …
