Abstract

Purpose: This study explores the perceptions of Library professionals towards the technological trends used in the Public Sector Universities of Pakistan.

Methodology/Approach: The quantitative research method was adopted while using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. A total of 106 questionnaires were distributed among the Head librarians working in the public Sector Universities of Pakistan. The data was collected from Scopus database using “cloud Computing” keyword and limited to articles final publications. The study assesses awareness, use and adoption benefits of SMAC (Smart, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud Computing) Technologies among the LIS professionals working across the libraries of different strata in India. 235 responses obtained using a structured questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics method. 99.6% respondents use mobile phones, 58.7% post library activities using social media daily for this purpose 61.3% use Facebook, 52.8% use YouTube, 69.4 use WhatsApp, 31.5% use Facebook Messenger and 18.7% use Instagram. This informetric study was aimed at finding out the distribution of articles and authors that published in the Nigerian Libraries: Journal of the Nigerian Library Association from 2009 to 2018. Also, the year-wise growth of of research articles; auhorship pattern; and collaboration ratio; subject distribution of articles and institutional affiliation of authors were examined. The journal was selected based on it's consistency and popularity. Data collected through a self-designed checklist was analysed using frequency count and percentage. The paper examined utilization of cloud computing and its relationship on the academic performance of final year students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. A 4-point Lickert scale of Strongly Agree; Agree; Disagree; Strongly Disagree was used to obtain responses from the 285 sample respondents. The result shows that majority of 206(72%) out of 285 utilizes cloud computing for e-mail and other social media platform. South Africa has not only been identified with high records of gender-based violence (GBV), but that, it takes a complex toll on young people than does transport accidents. Therefore, two methods: Pao’s Least Squared (LS) and Sen’s methods were used to determine the validity of GBV research output vis-a-vis Lotka’s law of scientific productivity over a ten-year window 2009-2018. Abstract

The study investigated the perception and attitude of librarians towards Cloud Computing in the University of Dar es Salaam library. Five research objectives were raised to guide this research work; some of which are determining the level of awareness of cloud computing by librarians, perception of cloud computing by librarians, attitude of librarians towards cloud computing and others. It applied a descriptive research design using quantitative approach.
