The following project includes both a comprehensive site report on the archaeological field school hosted by Ursinus College and Historic Trappe in the summer of 2024, as well as spatial representations and analysis of colonial window glass distribution over the excavation units. Descriptions of the results of this archaeological investigation aim to expand on the body of knowledge concerning the Muhlenberg general store and the Speaker’s House property where the field school was conducted. (LJA), on behalf of Montgomery County Municipal Utility District (MUD) No. 157, to conduct a cultural resources inventory and assessment for the proposed West Fork of the San Jacinto River South Drainage Channel Phase 3 Project. The proposed undertaking would consist of constructing a new outfall structure within an approximately 1.5-hectare (3.6-acre) area on the eastern bank of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River near Moorhead Road. (Horizon) was selected by Forestar Real Estate Group, Inc. to conduct a cultural resources inventory and assessment for the proposed 22.1- hectare (54.5-acre) Country Club Road tract in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas. The proposed development tract is located in a largely undeveloped forested area south of the Conroe Country Club, east of Old Country Club Road, and north of Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 2854 in western Conroe. This report presents the results of an archeological survey for a 12-acre tract near Mill Creek, south of Farm-to-Market (FM) road 1488 in Montgomery County, Texas. The Montgomery County Municipal Utility District (MUD) 131 is proposing to build public utilities and make modifications to a tributary of Mill Creek on the 12-acre property, which requires consultation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. This also necessitates compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (Section 106) and the Antiquities Code of Texas (ACT). Acacia Heritage Consulting conducted the …

On behalf of Halff Associates, Inc., and the Montgomery County Toll Road Authority (MCTRA), SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted an investigation of the proposed Tomball Tollway project located in Montgomery County, Texas. The proposed project area follows the existing Tomball Tollway (State Highway [SH] 249) northward approximately 3.3 miles from Spring Creek to the FM 1774 junction in Pinehurst. The proposed project involves the widening of SH 249 between existing feeders, as well as the construction of on-ramps. Forests in Southeastern Pennsylvania have been shaped by a number of anthropocentric factors over the past century, with many areas experiencing a recent trend towards forest recovery. Studies on forest dynamics have shown that most developed regions exhibit a forest transition, which begins when land is cleared for natural resource extraction (e.g., agriculture, forestry) during an early development stage. Then as a population grows and food production needs are met, rural peoples begin to migrate to the city, and a feeling of scarcity of trees develops that may lead to changes in land management attitudes, and many formerly deforested areas …
