Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Islamic Economics

This study aims to explain from the point of view of the true understanding of the evil eye from the fiqh al-hadith angel and explains its relationship with pukau as well …

Islamic Revivalism And Democracy In Malaysia, Ashton Word, Ahmed Abd Rabou
DU Undergraduate Research Journal Archive
The paper examines democracy and secularism in Malaysia, a state rooted in Islam, and how it has been implemented in a country with a majority Muslim population. It briefly outlines how Islam was brought to the region and how British colonialism was able to implement secularism and democratic practices in such a way that religion was not wholeheartedly erased. Indeed, peaceful decolonization combined with a history of accommodating elites served to promote a newly independent Malaysia, to create a constitutional democracy which declares Islam as the religion of the Federation, and simultaneously religious freedom. Despite the constitution, the United Malays …

Malaysia’S Stance Towards Trump’S Decision Regarding Bayt Al-Maqdis, Mohd Roslan Mohd Nor, Muhammad Khalis Ibrahim
Research Publications (2016 to 2020)
Bayt al-Maqdis is a territory that is always conflicted in dispute due to the prolonged crisis of land ownership between Palestine and Israel. From an Islamic perspective, Bayt al-Maqdis is an important territory due to its status as a Holy Land to the Muslims as therein lies the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is the third holiest mosque after Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al Nabawi (Nor, 2010: 83). This warrants much attention from Islamic countries specifically towards Bayt al-Maqdis (Nor & Rozi, 2016).

In fact, talfiq was not accepted by majority of classical scholars especially during the era of development of schools of jurisprudence. The period of reformation in Islam (tajdid) in the 20th century has initiated its popularity among the Muslim community particularly with the call to free them from the bondage of rigidness in adopting a particular school of jurisprudence. Talfiq, in fact is an alternative for contemporary scholars who find ijtihad (independent legal reasoning) limited and difficult to provide legal solutions. Yet, there are …
