Review Of Cloud Migration Strategies And Providers – An Iaas Migration Strategy, Florinda Imeri, Agon Memeti
UBT International Conference
Companies are addressing the Cloud Computing issue more actively recently, as a part of a move towards a more agile and flexible IT infrastructure since benefitting from an IT infrastructure that is flexible, scalable, high-performance and up-to-date is no longer a luxury or the exception to a rule. The issue they address is “Which is the best strategy?” Of course, this is not a simple issue given that the cloud can impact an organization’s application picture across several dimensions. When an organizations made the decision to consider cloud services for its application or infrastructure deployment, it’s important to understand the …

An Analysis Of Software Testing Practices On Migrations From On Premise To Cloud Hosted Environments, Ronan Mullen
Dissertations
This research project examines the differences between software testing practices that are carried out on software that is installed locally (i.e. on premise) versus software that has migrated to a cloud hosted environment. In conjunction with this, focus was placed on determining what methodologies and frameworks are in existence for assisting with software migrations to the cloud. The reason for carrying out this research project was that the transition to cloud computing is becoming more and more mainstream, as a result organisations are required to focus their efforts on how best to move their software to the cloud while ensuring …

A Forensically-Enabled Iaas Cloud Computing Architecture, Saad Alqahtany, Nathan Clarke, Steven Furnell, Christoph Reich
Australian Digital Forensics Conference
Current cloud architectures do not support digital forensic investigators, nor comply with today’s digital forensics procedures largely due to the dynamic nature of the cloud. Whilst much research has focused upon identifying the problems that are introduced with a cloud-based system, to date there is a significant lack of research on adapting current digital forensic tools and techniques to a cloud environment. Data acquisition is the first and most important process within digital forensics – to ensure data integrity and admissibility. However, access to data and the control of resources in the cloud is still very much provider-dependent and complicated …
