Adult Learners With Learning Disabilities’ Motivation To Succeed In Higher Education Online Learning During Covid19, Sara Michelle Rodriguez
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Many students had to transition to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic while other students were already enrolled in online education. Online study may hold additional struggles for students with learning disabilities. The problem addressed in this qualitative, phenomenological study was the motivating factors of online higher education students who have a learning disability during the COVID-19 pandemic. Intersections on Inclusion: Critical Conversations about the Academy
Recent conversations in Utah and nationwide highlight the debate and division surrounding Critical Race Theory (CRT) in education. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the ways CRT informs and deepens our teaching, research, and community engagement in higher education. Panelists will explore how they use CRT in the classroom and in their research, and discuss how doing so advances USU’s mission of “cultivating diversity of thought and culture" and “serving the public through learning, discovery, and engagement.” Join us for an engaging—and celebratory—discussion that will reenergize our shared purpose in this work and build connections across our university.

Prevalence And Correlates Of Food And Housing Insecurities At A Historically Black College, Melissa Massey Lockard
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this quantitative, predictive correlational study was to determine the prevalence of food and housing insecurities at one historically Black college and explore whether these insecurities influence students’ academic performance or their mental health quality. The study also explored possible predictors of students at risk of experiencing these basic needs challenges. A convenience sample of 175 participant surveys was collected in the fall 2021 semester at the small, private, liberal arts college in urban South Carolina. Education On The Inside: Incarcerated Students' Perceptions Of Correctional Education Programs, Stephanie Cage
Electronic Theses and Dissertations Archive
The United States has alarmingly high incarceration and recidivism rates. Many of those incarcerated have less education than their general population counterparts. Correctional education programs have a proven ability to reduce incarceration and recidivism rates by helping rehabilitate people. Current research on incarcerated students primarily focuses on the external benefits of correctional education programs such as recidivism. The purpose of this study was to explore incarcerated students’ perceptions regarding their correctional education experiences. The study particularly investigated students at a Louisiana correctional …

Making A Teachers College Program Comprehensive, Robert E. Mcconnell
All Faculty Scholarship for the College of Education and Professional Studies
The purpose of the undergraduate teachers college is to educate young men and women for teaching in the elementary and secondary schools. Curriculum makers should arrange the courses of instruction and activities so that the student will be directed to do those things which he will be called upon to do in his profession and in his life after school. The curriculum of the teachers college is the fountainhead from which new ideas and materials for the public schools should flow. A heavy responsibility has been delegated to it.
