This finding aid represents a collection of outdoor plaques found throughout the Linfield University campus in McMinnville. There are multiple ways in which Catholic law schools can provide an education that supports and reflects a Catholic vision. Some schools align more closely to an orthodox view in which text and doctrine are the starting lens. Catholic law schools closer to the secular end of the spectrum play a powerful role by actively building bridges with the secular world. These schools, either implicitly or explicitly, start with values framed in more universal terms -- a moral or ethical worldview that can implement the common good in the secular world. Conference program and abstracts for the College of Arts & Sciences (CASCon) faculty presentations held September 29, 2021 in the Martire Center at Sacred Heart University.

More than 40 faculty members participated in this year’s conference, representing multiple disciplines: languages and literature, psychology, biology, mathematics, government, Catholic studies, art and design, communications, chemistry and physics, history, theatre arts, theology/religious studies, media and sociology. There were 30 talks that covered various topics, such as the civil war, theatre, body image and Foodstagrams (Instagram posts about food).

An Autoethnographic Study Of Online Class Size And Instructor Participation In Discussions, Danielle M. Philipson

This research provided a detailed description of the researcher’s experience as an online instructor who faced increasing demands while trying to maintain instructional effectiveness. This account provided online program directors who sought to balance instructor satisfaction, accreditation standards, and financial pressures with insight into the impact of class size choices on instructor behavior in the online classroom. A qualitative autoethnographic method was used to understand the nature of the connection between class size and instructor use of instructional posts and to identify factors that influence the way instructors participate in online discussions. Monetary Compensation Of Full-Time Faculty At American Public Regional Universities: The Impact Of Geography And The Existence Of Collective Bargaining, Stephen G. Katsinas, Johnson A. Ogun, Nathaniel J. Bray

Journal of Collective Bargaining in the Academy

This paper examines monetary compensation of 127,222 full-time faculty employed by the 390 regional universities in the United States who are members of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Compensation data published by the U.S. Department of Education and organizations concerned with faculty, including the American Association of University Professors and others, typically lump all four-year public university faculty together, ignoring well-known differences in teaching workloads at different types of public four-year universities (four instead of two courses taught each term, etc.).
