Elegant Leadership In Heterogeneous Ministry Settings, Karen Louise Palmbaum Claassen
Elegant Leadership In Heterogeneous Ministry Settings, Karen Louise Palmbaum Claassen
Doctor of Ministry
Most Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations are heterogeneous when viewed from some demographic angles. Age, economic status, theological viewpoint, ethnicity, language, family structure, and culture all provide angles through which to contemplate demographic heterogeneity. Part of the variety within my denomination occurs naturally. Other is due to changes in our society. Regardless of origin, increasing diversity is likely to continue. While some argue that uniformity in one or two overarching categories means that a congregation is not diverse, I affim1 that acknowledging diversity points, and exploiting those differences at times, is critical to health and vitality in a congregation. Reflections Upon Korean And American Evangelical Church Models For Effective Strategy In Developing Missional Churches, Kyoung Jun Park
Reflections Upon Korean And American Evangelical Church Models For Effective Strategy In Developing Missional Churches, Kyoung Jun Park
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this project is to present my reflections upon Korean and American evangelical church model for effective strategy in developing missional churches. God is reviving Korea and North America with missional churches. Some churches in Korea and America are changing their paradigm, not focusing on church buildings and programs but on missions and outreach. This thesis offers reflections about the missional church concept by presenting a set of case studies of well- known missional churches. The result of the case studies provides helpful insights on establishing a missional church. Drawing from case studies of missional Churches and a …

Developing A Process For Missional Formation: A Ministry Project In The Baptist Church Of Beaufort, Sc, Eric Thomas Spivey
Developing A Process For Missional Formation: A Ministry Project In The Baptist Church Of Beaufort, Sc, Eric Thomas Spivey
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Traditionally, Christians and church leaders compartmentalize their lives into growing spiritually and serving other people. One studies the Bible, worships or serves others without much thought for how these spiritual disciplines of formation and missional living impact and influence one another. Through a designed pastoral experiment involving twenty-four individuals in three community groups, this project proves that missional living combined with spiritual practices increases the spiritual growth in the members of The Baptist Church of Beaufort (SC).

A Qualitative Exploration Of Student Spiritual Development In A Living-Learning Community, Jason Morris, Mimi Barnard, Greg Morris, Julie Williamson
Growth: The Journal of the Association for Christians in Student Development
The purpose of this study is to examine the spiritual development of eight participants in a living-learning community at Abilene Christian University. Using a qualitative methodology, this study attempted to capture the voices of participants as they concluded a year together in a Barrett Hall living-learning community (LCC). Data were collected over a period of 2-3 weeks through individual semi-structured interviews, as well as one focus group comprised of all eight community members. Data were analyzed to capture meaningful themes and categories. Implications for practice are discussed.
A Return To Our Roots: 1st Century Church Growth In The 21st Century, Robert E. Logan
A Return To Our Roots: 1st Century Church Growth In The 21st Century, Robert E. Logan
Great Commission Research Journal
This paper reviews the history of the church growth movement with the underlying question: Can such happen in the 21st Century? The origination of the church growth movement is explored with a challenge to recontextualize the posture of church growth initiatives. A key to this process is the development of leaders through both missional and relational processes. Returning to our missional roots and becoming more and more incarnational as we walk alongside the next generation of leaders will have historic impact not only for church, but for the world, for the marketplace, and for all the new ways God may …

Integration And Test Of A Refrigerant-Based Cold-Gas Propulsion System For Small Satellites, Ryan Alan Pahl
Integration And Test Of A Refrigerant-Based Cold-Gas Propulsion System For Small Satellites, Ryan Alan Pahl
Masters Theses
"Due to the launch safety constraints placed on university-built small satellites, designing a low-cost propulsion system to meet mission requirements presents a significant challenge to aspiring student engineers. The Missouri University of Science and Technology is currently developing a low-cost, two-phase propulsion system using the refrigerant R-134a as the propellant that can be stored at low pressures while still providing sufficient performance to meet mission goals. The purpose of this study is to present the testing results of a refrigerant-based cold gas system utilizing R-134a as a saturated liquid propellant and the ability to design this system to be portable …
