Sustainable development assistance organizations (SDAOs) aim to help producers of natural resource products move their goods and services to market. This article explores how the cognitive frames held by producers, staff, and board members in an agricultural SDAO in rural Appalachia influence organizational decision-making. This study explores identity, characterization, value, and membership frames. Data collected through semi-structured interviews with growers, staff, and board members reveal that the frames these stakeholders hold lead to the institutionalization of decision-making processes that allow organizational managers to make quick, consistent, and clear decisions while avoiding conflicts among members who hold competing frames. AWWA members included: Linda Schier, Carol Lafond, Marge Kimball and Adam Soukimas. Town Staff included Joe Fluet (Planning board Chair) and Nancy Spencer Smith (Conservation Commission). The goals of AWWA are to educate and inform shoreland property owners about the harmful effects of erosion and uncontrolled stormwater runoff on water quality of its lakes and ponds. The Impact Of Rural-Urban Migration On Plantation Agriculture In The Niger Delta Region, Nigeria, Albert Ukaro Ofuoku, Christopher Okeleke Chukwuji

This study was carried out to unveil the impact of rural-urban migration on plantation agriculture productivity in the Niger-Delta Region of Nigeria. Data were collected from 660 rural households and managers/supervisors of 15 selected oil palm, rubber, and cocoa plantations in the Niger-Delta Region. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Most migrants were able bodied young adults. Labor shortage was experienced by all the visited plantations. Due to labor shortages, most of the plantations could not harvest completely. This resulted in foregone revenue for the plantations. The Alabama Veterans Rural Health Initiative aims to better understand the health care needs, health status, and barriers to care for rural veterans. Following extensive community outreach, Veteran Community Outreach Health Workers assessed 203 veterans residing in rural counties of Alabama who either: 1) had never enrolled in VA health services, or 2) had not used those services in at least two years. While 71.4 percent of participants reported having utilized non-VHA primary care within the past year, 33.5 percent reported an inability or delay in obtaining needed health care for one or more services: primary care, specialty care, mental …

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: menyusun, mengetahui karakteristik, dan melakukan penyetaraan soal Biologi yang mengukur keterampilan proses, perumusan hipotesis, identifikasi variabel, prosedur eksperimen, dan penafsiran data.

Populasi penelitian adalah respons siswa Madrasah Aliyah di Propinsi DIY terhadap tes yang dikembangkan. Sampel sekolah dan kelas sebagai uji coba ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik stratified proposional random sampling. Ada dua paket soal yaitu paket tes 1 (kode KP-BIO/MA/P-1/2007) dan paket tes 2 (kode KP-BIO/MA/P-2/2007). Soal tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 36 butir tiap paket. Butir soal dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis butir tes secara modem menggunakan program BIGSTEP.

It has many applications in diverse domains such as software engineering, information systems, biology, and chemistry. Information hierarchies are typically modeled by an abstract tree, where vertices are entities and edges represent relationships between entities. The University of New Hampshire Zoology Department reports on a study designed to continue monitoring the distribution of invasive species in the Great Bay Estuary and to carry out laboratory experiments designed to test the effects of salinity on ascidian mortality and determine predators of ascidian species. Researchers collected presence/absence and abundance data of invasive species at four sites within the Great Bay Estuarine System. The report gives a brief description of the results of the monitoring program to compare results obtained from 2006 to 2007 and to assess the response of ascidians to varying salinity and predators. Background: MacroH2A1 is a histone variant that is closely associated with the repressed regions of chromosomes. A recent study revealed that this histone variant is highly enriched in the inactive alleles of Imprinting Control Regions (ICRs). Results: The current study investigates the potential roles of macroH2A1 in genomic imprinting by lowering the cellular levels of the macroH2A1 protein. RNAi-based macroH2A1 knockdown experiments in Neuro2A cells changed the expression levels of a subset of genes, including Peg3 and Usp29 of the Peg3 domain. The expression of these genes was down-regulated, rather than up-regulated, in response to reduced protein levels of the …

Brenner draws upon recent technological advances, evaluating how developing technologies may alter how humans interact with each other and with their environment. Nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NLPHL) is a recently described type of Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) and accounts for 5-6% of all the cases of HL. Here we report the case of an elderly man who presented to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Oman, with severe hypercalcemia, and was diagnosed to have stage IV NLPHL. Although the incidence of hypercalcemia is estimated to be between 1-5% in classical HL, to our knowledge this is the first report of NLPHL presenting with severe hypercalcemia. The range of chronic diseases treated has expanded to include such conditions as obesity and pain management, and the care continuum now encompasses wellness, prevention, and population health. • The Weed Sentry program surveyed more than 750 miles of federal lands in Clark County for invasive, exotic plant species.
• Weed Sentry also removed more than 600,000 individual invasive plants from federal
  lands. These removals represent pro-active efforts that may have forestalled large
  infestations difficult and costly to eradicate.
• In response to a request by the manager of the Fish and Wildlife Service Desert National
  Wildlife Refuge, a major effort of surveying springs for plant community composition

Formulation is conducted by utilising Extension o f Integrated Islamic Hyperstructuralism Methodology. In that methodology, conventional concept o f wealth and Baydoun and Willett’s (1994) balance sheet are refined by Shari’ate Accounting. Objective: The number of orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) worldwide has increased as a result of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) pandemic. New Life Home (NLH) specialises in the care of infants who have been orphaned or abandoned, often because of their exposure to HIV and places them for adoption. This paper documents the lessons learnt from the Home’s first 8.5 years of existence. Methods: This retrospective study analyses the pattern of the 490 infants admitted at NLH. The inactivation cross section is a useful tool to explore the interaction mechanism. Hence, the inactivation cross section for proton irradiation on V79 cells has been calculated using published survival data. Method: The linear quadratic equation was used to fit the survival curves and the parameter α was used to calculate the cross section. Lignocellulosic enzymes from Crepidotus variabilis collected from mangrove forests of coastal Tanzania were investigated by using standard methods, and their ability to degrade aromatic compounds were elucidated. The fungal crude enzyme filtrates had maximum laccase (Lac), lignin peroxidase (LiP) and manganese peroxidase (MnP) activities of 70 U/mL, 16 U/mL and 8, U/mL respectively. The crude enzyme extracts were able to oxidize rhemazol brilliant blue-R (RBB-R) dye, phenol, "-naphthol and pyrogallol. Also, they could remove up to 58% and 92% color from raw textile effluent and aromatic dyes, respectively, after 14 days of incubation at 30ºC and pH 4.5. Desalted and …
