Concern About Eating Genetically Engineered Food, Glenn D. Israel, Thomas J. Hoban
Concern About Eating Genetically Engineered Food, Glenn D. Israel, Thomas J. Hoban
Journal of Rural Social Sciences
Concern about eating genetically engineered food is explored for a sample of residents from Florida and North Carolina. Previous research on consumers' food safety concerns and perceived risk associated with food production suggests that concern about genetically engineered food is influenced by three factors. Concern is influenced by how well informed consumers are about food technology, their capacity to understand that information, and the compatibility of genetic engineering with consumers' moral beliefs. Utilizing logistic regression, women and persons who viewed genetic engineering to be morally wrong were found to have greater concern about eating genetically engineered foods. Awareness and educational …

Bow Use In The Great Basin, Andrew Ugan
Bow Use In The Great Basin, Andrew Ugan
Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects
The bow and arrow is a tool with a very long history. In the Old World its use dates back to paleolithic times, with firm evidence in the form of arrow shafts dated to the early ninth millennium b.c. (McEwen, Miller, & Bergman, 1991). More tenuous evidence from projectile points in Africa may push that back as far as 11000 b.c. (Blitz, 1988). The focus of this paper, however, will be the adoption and subsequent use of the bow in the Great Basin region of the West.

Vcu Voice (1992-12-11)
VCU Voice, 1988-1998
VCU Today, the University’s first official administrative organ, began as a somewhat irregular monthly publication but moved to a bi-weekly newspaper format in the 1980s. The newspaper changed its name to VCU Voice in 1988 and ten years later it appeared under the title UniverCity News. As it neared the end of its run as a physical newspaper, the publication became simply VCU News. These four publications were essentially the same periodical published under different titles by the Office of University Relations. VCU News appeared online for the first time in 2002.

The Voice: 1991-2000
In this edition of the Voice, a student’s senior IS photography exhibit sparks controversy with its use of nudity. Faculty votes to make the 1993 FYS theme "Knowledge, Power, and Responsibility: Moving Into the 21st Century." An article discusses Wooster’s graduation rate stating that 10% of seniors may not graduate. After a rash break-in over Thanksgiving break, despite the evidence presented by campus security, student victims of the crimes claim that a master key was used in the burglaries. Additionally, a story details College of Wooster student’s distaste for their meal plans. An article on page five discusses eating disorders …
