Barre Toelken, Director of the Folklore and Ethnic Studies Program at the University of Oregon, will deliver the Marshall Dodge Memorial Folklore Lecture Thursday, February 21, at 7:30 p.m. in 100 Nutting Hall on the University of Maine (Orono) campus. There is much activity in the northeast in folklore and oral history. On April 28 the New England Association of Oral History will observe its tenth anniversary at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, the site of the founding meeting. The New England Task Force on Folklife is continuing its work in promoting an awareness of the various research projects in folklore and folklife in the New England region. The Apprenticeship Journal was christened in Rockport in the Spring of 1983, and the Massachusetts Council of the Arts and Humanities has a full-time Folk Arts Coordinator.
