Inactive Women As A Result Of The Gender-Based Division Of Labor: The Virtualcall Project As A Possible Solution, Ebru Işık
Journal of International Women's Studies
Today, many women are excluded from the labor market despite having a good education. Perhaps the most obvious reason for this situation is the gender-based division of labor. Because of this division of labor, women are mostly considered to be responsible for domestic work and care work and it becomes difficult for them to go out of the house. Such women are not able to participate in the labor market due to their domestic responsibilities and are currently considered inactive. Economic inactivity, a huge problem for many European countries including Turkey, excludes a great potential human resource that will be …

Contemporary Velocity Field For Turkey Inferred From Combination Of A Dense Network Of Long Term Gnss Observations, Ali̇ İhsan Kurt, Ali̇ Değer Özbakir, Ayhan Ci̇ngöz, Semi̇h Ergi̇ntav, Uğur Doğan, Seda Özarpaci
Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences
The Anatolia?Aegean domain represents a broad plate boundary zone, with the deformation accommodated by major faults bounding quasi-low deforming units. First-order features of this deformation were obtained in the form of a GNSS-derived velocity field. During the last decade, the accuracy of velocity solutions was improved, and the expansion of continuous networks increased spatial resolution. Nonetheless, an accurate representation of the deformation field requires interstation distances much lower than the locking depth of nearby faults, which has not yet been satisfied. The basis for creating a precise and accurate velocity field is uniform processing of the time series recorded both …

Geology Of The Eastern Anatolian Plateau (Turkey): A Synthesis, Ali̇ Yilmaz, Gülteki̇n Topuz, Tuna Eken, Osman Candan, Hüseyi̇n Yilmaz
Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences
The Eastern Anatolian Plateau (EAP), approximately 2000 m above sea level, is located between the Eastern Pontides to the north, the Arabian Platform to the south, and the Iranian Plateau to the east. It is characterized by approximately 6 km-thick Maastrichtian to Quaternary volcano-sedimentary cover which unconformably overlies continental and oceanic basement units. Overall, the outcrops of the pre-Maastrichtian basement are rare and include both continental and oceanic units. This led to drastically different interpretations of the nature of the pre-Maastrichtian basement as (i) the oceanic accretionary complex or (ii) continental crust and overlying ophiolitic mélange. This synthesis deals with …

Proceedings of the Arkansas Nutrition Conference
The term “microbiome” refers to all the micro-organisms within a particular environment. In poultry, the microbiome is influenced by the barn, diet, and age of the birds and is believed to modulate immunity and inflammation. In the past, culture methods were primarily used to evaluate the presence of the various micro-organisms present in the microbiome; however, recent technological advances in genomic sequencing have revolutionized sample analysis. This technology has opened new avenues of research in poultry production and our understanding of the associated health challenges. Turkey cellulitis has been a major economic and health concern for many years. Traditional bacterial …
