Performance Of Transparent Conducting Fluorine-Doped Tin Oxide Films For Applications In Energy Efficient Devices, H. M. Hashem
International Journal of Thin Film Science and Technology
Un-doped and fluorine-doped tin oxide (F:SnO2) films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique on glass substrates. A systematic optimization of the solvent and the precursor as well as the preparation parameters and their effect on structural and physical (electrical/optical) characteristics are investigated. Although a single phase of tetragonal structure is obtained under all the preparation parameters, the type of crystallographic preferred orientation is mainly dependent on the solvent and the doping level. The crystallite size is in the range of 15-25 nm. The increase of spray time, substrate temperature and solution concentration results in an increase in the film thickness …

Al doped ZnO thin films were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. The concentration ratio of [Al]/[Zn] was varied from 1 to 5 %mol in the starting solution, in order to investigate the effect of doping ratio on the structural optical and electrical films properties. The films thicknesse was found in the range 900-1100 nm. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that the films doped with Al using aluminium chloride (AlCl3.H2O) has a textured structure with (002) preferred orientation, .The grain size increases with Al concentration from 28.91 to 59.11 nm. The average optical transmittance of all films, regardless the doping concentration, …

Tin oxide films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique with different deposition times (60 - 240 s) while the substrate temperature (773 K), the deposition rate (0.22 ml/s) and the concentration (0.2 M) of tin chloride (hydrous) solution were kept constant. Variation of grain size with film thickness (deposition time) is found useful to model a mechanism for film growth. Depending on the mode of layer growth followed by 3D crystallite growth (Stranski and Krastaniv, SK) as well as on the variation of the standard deviation of pole densities, a proposed model of growth mechanism of thin film was suggested. …

Effect of nickel doping was investigated on doped CdS films by spray pyrolysis technique and examined by XRD, AFM, and UV-VIS spectroscopy. The increasing of Ni doping ratio improve (020) preferential orientation. XRD analysis confirmed the CdS nanostructure for all samples. The crystallite size for pure CdS showed an increase from 19.98 nm to 27.04 nm on doping, whereas the strain (%) parameter was decreased from 25.0 to 13.3. AFM images offer a decrease in roughness from 6.5 nm to 3.48 nm with Ni – 4% content. Transmittance was exceeding 70% in the visible range by Ni content. Also, the …

ZnO:TM (TM=Sn, Mn, Al) thin films were successfully deposited on glass substrates using spray pyrolysis technique. X-ray analysis shows that ZnO:TM thin films crystallize in hexagonal structure with a preferred orientation of the crystallites along (002) direction and the crystallite size had increased with TM doping. The present study investigated the effect of TM type on the structural parameters. These films had direct band gap energy lying in the range of 3 – 2.25 eV and the average transmittance varied from 75 to 85 % with TM doping. The lowest observed figure of merit in the present study is 4.13×10-5 …

Effect Of W Doping On Nio Thin Films And Its Optical, Morphological And Diode Characteristics, Saju Joseph, O. N. Balasundaram
International Journal of Thin Film Science and Technology
In this work, we demonstrate the preparation of simple and inexpensive spray route for the preparation of pure and W doped NiO thin films on the quartz glass plates. The microstructure and morphological properties were investigated using an X-ray diffraction and Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) studies. SEM images notify the presence of hollow sphere and the energy dispersive spectrum confirms the existence of both Ni and W in the prepared films. Electrical properties were investigated by two probe conductivity studies. In addition to these studies (n-Si/NiO/Au and n- Si/W:NiO/Au) diodes were fabricated and their chattels were deliberated.

Optical Properties Of Annealed Spray Pyrolyzed Zinc Oxide Thin Films, Ayana A
Manipal Journal of Science and Technology
Metal oxide semiconductors of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanostructures have received a lot of interest in recent decades owing to their vast variety of applications in different domains. In this work, ZnO film is deposited at 450℃ on a chemically cleaned borosilicate glass substrate through a conventional chemical spray pyrolysis method. The deposited samples were annealed at different temperatures for 2 hours. Optical transmission in the visible region was maximum for the sample annealed at 450℃. The enhancement of energy bandgap with annealing temperature was observed due to the Burstein-Moss shift. The optical parameters like extinction coefficient and refractive index values …
