Also this study makes suggestions to develop Turkish Vocational Education System in the new century. The quality assurance system and accreditation of vocational education programmes is concerned with their characteristics, assessment, standards of excellence, and fitness for purpose.

As discrimination and hazardous working conditions have been constituting social costs in the Hong Kong economy, legislative progress in enforcing equal opportunity, safety and health at work becomes obvious with the enactment of discrimination ordinances and the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance in 1997. Educational programmes were being conducted for students to realise such social responsibility soon after they graduate. The evaluation of the educational programmes is based on the empirical data collected after the delivery of educational packages.

The Internet has revolutionized the way we communicate and created new paradigms for innovation in education. This paper discusses the pedagogical issues conforming to constructivism that educators may consider in the delivery of instruction in post-secondary vocational education. The idea of how to run an effective and efficient vocational education and training system (EEVETS) with enterprises is given in this paper. It includes curriculum, teaching method, teaching support, quality control and management, etc. The keys to form EEVETS are demand analysis, motivation mechanism, teachers and tutors, quality control and service support. The training system for modern power station operators is briefly given as an example.

Learning new skills or acquiring new knowledge is becoming part of life for most adults. Indeed, the paradigm of life-long learning has found advocates not only in individuals but also policy-makers. In the information age, life-long learning will be increasingly dependent on the successful application of information and communication technology. This paper outlines recent curriculum developments of this department, highlighting information technology applications for course delivery and management. In catering for the changing needs of local industry, the department seeks to establish partnership with local companies, aiming to expand the department’s scope on life-long learning provision at the same time.

The study was designed to determine the preparedness of a cohort of career and technical teachers to meet the requirements of the contemporary classroom. Using the field-based, competency-based alternative teacher education model operated by Temple University, it was determined that Temple University's career and technical education teachers felt well prepared to meet the challenges of the contemporary classroom. It was also evident that there were both similarities and differences in how teachers in academic disciplines and teachers in career and technical fields perceived their readiness to teach the next generation of students.
