The purpose of this study was to examine the influence that collegiate ballroom dance programs have on participants’ body image perception and self-esteem and to identify what sort of effect those perceptions have on performance satisfaction. In this project the researcher surveyed twenty-four students, ten males and fourteen females, who were presently involved in a collegiate ballroom dance program with a goal of identifying what sort of influence the culture of their ballroom dance programs had on each participant’s body image and self-esteem. The researcher received information about the evaluation systems from eleven dance educators in addition to how nine educational leaders evaluate their dance educators, along with one educational leader’s personal insight into their respective evaluation process. The research instruments utilized were online surveys and interviews. Both the surveys and interview responses were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively, depending on …
The Power Of Together: Applying Group Dynamics To Organizational Change Initiatives, Megan Bissell
The Power Of Together: Applying Group Dynamics To Organizational Change Initiatives, Megan Bissell
Master's Theses
Work and occupations are among the oldest and most salient concepts studied in sociology. Sociology as a field has largely focused on organizations from a macro perspective; primarily looking at organizational systems and institutionalized systems of oppression. Conversely, in conjunction with other disciplines such as psychology, sociology has maintained a presence in the more micro space, focusing on individualized interaction and behaviors. However, there is a distinct lack of meso-level research about the impact of group dynamics and social interaction in the for-profit workplace. Since 2010, there have only been 89 articles published about groups and their interactions in the …
Examining The Effects Of Disability Services On Student Success In Higher Education, Rebecca Smith
Examining The Effects Of Disability Services On Student Success In Higher Education, Rebecca Smith
Master's Theses
Disabled students in higher education are provided resources through reasonable accommodation, or modification of university offerings. This affords the disabled student equal opportunity to benefit from those programs, services, and facilities despite the limitations imposed by their disability. This practice is historically informed by the medical model of disability, and legal reforms such as the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act in 1973. Most research in this area has found that reasonable accommodation is effective for “leveling the playing field” for disabled college students. Yet, some researchers argue that Universal Design, the composition of an environment …

Nursing Students' Awareness About Effective Teamwork And Related Factors, Vi Thi Thuong Nguyen
Master's Theses
This study surveyed the awareness level of nursing students about the effectiveness of teamwork and related factors. At Hong Bang International University (HIU), teamwork training for nursing students at HIU has been applied but it has been difficult for all students to achieve high results and confidence in practicing teamwork skills. The effectiveness of self-study and group activities depends on many factors. The effectiveness of teaching approaches has not been measured and has needed to be addressed to result in the best learning experience for students. The results of this study provided recommendations to improve the quality of training as …
