This report is the result of a fifteen week internship with the Interpretation Department at Longue Vue House and Gardens, New Orleans, Louisiana. During this internship I participated in many projects including the development of an interactive children's program for the Longue Vue house. This report also concentrates on the organization's history and structure, the internship's responsibilities and tasks, and an analysis of the organization.

This internship report describes my experiences and impressions while working with The Ogden Museum of Southern Art (OMSA). The OMSA will be a museum devoted to the visual arts heritage of the American South. The museum is scheduled to open in 1998. At the time of my internship the OMSA was in the middle of a capital campaign to raise the necessary funds to house and endow the collection. My internship consisted of planning and implementing an educational program. The event introduced the new director to the various groups that are cooperating to make the OMSA a reality.

This paper discusses an internship experience at the Audubon Institute, a not-for-profit organization located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Audubon Institute oversees the management of several facilities dedicated to the cultivation and awareness of nature. The primary focus of the internship was development and fund raising. Women's Bodies And Selves In Chronic Illness: An Analytic Comparison Of Illness Narratives, Jennifer K. Boles

This paper is a critical analysis of individual, chronically ill bodies in their various relationships to Anthony Giddens' construction of the reflexive self, and in turn, how these selves interpret the societal/cultural ideals concerning their bodies. Specifically, this paper is a comparison of anorexic and environmentally ill bodies examined through individual narratives. The struggle between the self and the body in both illnesses expresses the intricate relationship between society and the social location of women and their physical selves.

This report gives a history of the Louisiana Children's Museum, New Orleans, Louisiana. It discusses the Museum's mission, management structure, funding, programs and goals. The internship itself describes the projects in which the intern was involved and the planning that went into these projects. The major project of the internship was a workshop for teachers to instruct them on how to incorporate arts in the classroom, thus the name "Fine Arts in the Classroom." Other projects involved implementation of activities for new areas and updating current exhibits.

The purpose of this thesis is to provide a clear and cohesive plan to assist the City of New Orleans in rehabilitating historic homes and neighborhoods. One of the main attractions for visitors to New Orleans is the charm of its architecture. A larger portion of the architecture is in disrepair. Most of the neighborhoods that are suffering from blight are homes in low-income communities. These families have little help in maintaining these historic structures because of the increased costs.
