This investigation is founded on the premise of the need to carry out a neutrosophic analysis of the educational orientation of the diabetic patient, which shows its impact on quality of life. To deal with the subject, it relies on an educational guide. We used a questionnaire consisting of seven questions to investigate the state of knowledge on diabetes in a sample of 210 diabetic patients. We defined a scale, where patients can answer in the form of intervals, such that we obtain as accurately as possible the patients’ opinions. As the Native American population of the Navajo Nation, becomes affected with diabetes dental offices across the Navajo Reservation must ensure that evidence based research is being presented n the oral systemic link of diabetes and periodontal disease. The purpose of this study was to bring awareness to the important topic of the bi-directional link of diabetes and periodontal disease with Native American dental patients. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) is higher in American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/AN) than in any other racial or ethnic group in the United States (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [USDHHS] Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2018). In response to this escalating health issue, the U.S. government funded a number of DM education and treatment programs focusing on AI/AN populations. Glenohumeral joint septic arthritis in a native joint is uncommon but can be debilitating if not treated early. Septic arthritis does not always present with the typical clinical findings, especially in immunocompromised patients. We report a rare case of glenohumeral septic arthritis from Streptococcus mitis infection in a diabetic woman that was initially missed on first presentation in the emergency department (ED). The exact cause of infection in this case remains unclear but is likely due to poor dentition and possible transient bacteremia in the setting of large rotator cuff tear in an immunocompromised patient (diabetes). This study examined what New Mexico dentists have reported regarding the knowledge and confidence levels of dental hygienists in providing patient education on oral/systemic periodontal risk factors. Further examined were New Mexico dentists views are on structured SPT protocols that include dentist/dental hygienist patient education on major risk factors for oral/systemic disease, and referrals and consultation with primary physicians. Members of the New Mexico Dental Association (n-700) were asked to participate in a 20-question online survey. Survey questions focused primarily on the level of risk assessment for periodontal disease that New Mexico dentists report dental hygienists discussing with periodontal patients. …
