Cultural Diversity In Student Ministry Leadership, Steven Zhou Mar 2017

Cultural Diversity In Student Ministry Leadership, Steven Zhou

Seaver College Research And Scholarly Achievement Symposium

In an attempt to contribute to how ministries and Christian academia is addressing issues of diversity, I am conducting a study to analyze correlations between ethnicity and styles/values of leadership. The goal is to uncover whether or not a particular ethnicity generally prefers one style of leadership over another. Past research on the subject has already seen that, in the business world, certain practices work better than others. For example, those from an Asian culture are more likely to prefer formality and authority as opposed to the collaborative and relationship-oriented style of leadership found in America. I will contribute to …

What Qualities Make An Effective Teacher Labor Union Leader?, Rosie Rogers

Theses and Dissertations

The power of union membership has declined in the United States substantially. Many manufacturers have moved many of their operations to new jurisdictions, to America’s south and to other low wage countries, to take advantage of the tax incentives many jurisdictions have to offer in most instances, a nonunion workforce. Teachers’ unions have experienced other external factors, such as the results of Right to Work legislation, and the charter school movement. This study researched the history of teacher labor union leadership and explored the internal and external factors that have affected unions over the past 50 years. This study included …

Leadership Influence On Aviation Safety Culture Inculcation As It Relates To Certified Non-Scheduled Air Taxi Operators, Stephen Birch

Theses and Dissertations

A general aviation industry segment member known as a Certified Non-scheduled Air Taxi Operator (CNATO) conducts passenger flights on-demand for hire. While airline accidents have reached historic lows, CNATO accident rates remain above one per 100,000 hours (NTSB, 2015b). Unlike airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration has not made safety management system implementation mandatory within CNATOs. As a result, there has been no decrease in CNATO organizational accidents over a 6-year period since 2009. Study goals strove to find a predictable method of variable identification influencing at-risk CNATOs. The study utilized a sequential transformative design comprising quantitative surveys and aviation accident …
