Pentecost 2033: Approaching The Great Jubilee, Jay Gary

The year 2033 will mark the 2,000th anniversary of the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church. How should Spirit-empowered Christians approach this milestone? How have previous generations approached significant historical milestones, whether successfully or unsuccessfully? To what degree might the church's bimillennial open an opportunity to address spiritual challenges such as cultural discontent, political populism or millennial violence? What questions must we ask ourselves as we explore, prepare, and ultimately commemorate the Great Jubilee 2030-2033, and cross the threshold of hope into humanity's third millennium?

Over the last 30 years, international business opportunities have become more widespread. This rise in global business opportunities has not gone unnoticed by missiologists, and the development of the Business as Mission (BAM) movement has introduced a new realm of possibilities of linking business and mission. One potential weakness of this model is that international business managers often do not receive any missiological or theological training. Central and Eastern Europe is one of the areas of the world that has undergone profound transformations during the 100 years delimited by the two Edinburgh gatherings that inspired the Regnum Edinburgh Centenary Series. It is the place in which Marxist ideology gave birth to the Communist hegemony that has impacted the European arena for over 50 years.
