La Guerra Civil Española Y Sus Trece Rosas: The Spanish Civil War And Their Thirteen Roses, Rachel Williams
La Guerra Civil Española Y Sus Trece Rosas: The Spanish Civil War And Their Thirteen Roses, Rachel Williams
Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium
The Spanish Civil War, which took place from 1936 to 1939, had a deep and lasting impact on Spain. During this hard time of the nation's history, when the country was divided by The Nationalists (Los Nacionalistas) and The Republicans (Los Republicanos), emerged a group of young women who, against all odds, decided to fight against their oppressors. This courageous group, many still teenagers, started a fight against the right-wing party, Los Nacionalistas. Rooted in opposition to what would become a long-lasting military dictatorship, each woman brought a unique perspective to the fight. In fact, for almost four decades Spaniards …
Women In The Late Nineteenth Century: Involvement In The 1893 Chicago World’S Fair, Maria Miller
Women In The Late Nineteenth Century: Involvement In The 1893 Chicago World’S Fair, Maria Miller
Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium
The Columbian Exposition of 1893, also known as the Chicago World’s Fair, was a clear example of the women’s rights movement in nineteenth century America. It exemplified the inclusion of women in male-dominated fields by establishing a Board of Lady Managers. This group of women held executive authorities over the establishment of a Woman’s Building. The Woman’s Building was a space dedicated to displaying the achievements of women throughout the world. This Building also gave female visitors hope for a future of expanded rights. Despite this, the Woman’s Building isolated women’s work into a distinct section within the Exposition. The …

Corporate Social Responsibility In The Health Care Sector, Dina Siniora
Corporate Social Responsibility In The Health Care Sector, Dina Siniora
Graduate Student Research Symposium
The challenge for the health care sector is to continually explore ways to ensure that the welfares of individual patients remain the utmost primacy and simultaneously promote health care equity via corporate socially responsible activities (CSR). There is an essential need to truly embrace CSR and ethical principles that would promote equal distribution of health care resources. Relevant CSR activities would be achieved by making the most significant health problems in a given society a priority of health care organizations. CSR in health care applied to hospitals and pharmaceutical companies should promote shared values and common ethical principles in new …

Determining The Specific Transition Needs Of Military And Veteran Students (Mvs), A Qualitative/Mixed Methods Study, Donald Accamando
Determining The Specific Transition Needs Of Military And Veteran Students (Mvs), A Qualitative/Mixed Methods Study, Donald Accamando
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
A number of challenges await military and veteran students (MVS) as they make their way to college campuses. These non-traditional students will transition to an environment different from the one they experienced while serving. This problem exists because a majority of the post-secondary schools across the country are not prepared to assist with their transition.
An initial review of the literature related to a veteran student’s transition to college has shown that very few colleges and universities offer a transition program developed specifically for this non-traditional student group. This has led to the formulation of two research questions:
1. What …

My Do Over: A Case Study Of An Intentional Focus On Relationship Building, By The School Leadership, In A Newly Formed School, Jean Marie Livingston

The main focus of this case study was on one building in this district and the question to be answered was, “Does an intentional focus on relationship building, by the school leadership, influence school culture and instructional practice in a newly formed school?” The literature will discuss school closures and the impact on stakeholders, grief …
