Childhood obesity is a critical public health issue with long-term implications for physical and mental health. Schools play a pivotal role in shaping children's dietary habits and physical activity levels. This research focuses on school-based interventions aimed at preventing obesity among children and adolescents. Specifically, it examines the impact of school lunch and breakfast programs on obesity rates. By analyzing these programs, we aim to identify effective strategies for promoting healthy eating habits and preventing obesity in the school environment.

Background: Vascular dysfunction due to hyperglycemia in individuals with diabetes is a factor contributing to distal symmetric polyneuropathy (DSP). Reactive oxygen species (ROS) reduce the bioavailability of nitric oxide (NO), a powerful vasodilator, resulting in reduced circulation and nerve ischemia. Increases in blood NO concentrations and circulation have been attributed to whole body vibration (WBV). The purpose of this study was to the determine the effects of low frequency, low amplitude WBV on whole blood NO concentration and skin blood flow (SBF) in individuals with symptoms of DSP. Family and marital support have been shown to be associated with better treatment adherence, illness adaptation, and blood sugar control in studies of individuals with diabetes. However, the behaviors and attitudes that describe appropriate support have not been defined. This is a qualitative study which asked couples who live with diabetes to define support. Seventy-four individuals (patients and spouses) participated in semi-structured interviews. Transcripts of these interviews were rigorously coded and analyzed by a team of researchers.
