Egypt's External Debt: An Attempt To Apply Sargent-Wallace Model To Egypt, Ashraf Mahmoud Abdel Moneim
Egypt's External Debt: An Attempt To Apply Sargent-Wallace Model To Egypt, Ashraf Mahmoud Abdel Moneim
Archived Theses and Dissertations
This research will analyze the Egyptian external debt, and its effect on the budget deficit and how the external debt could be rolled. We will see the government's policies, and how it affected the economy. The Gulf War had its effect in rescheduling and canceling some debt. Alternatives of deficit financing to prevent borrowing will be discussed. Thomas Sargent and Neil Wallace have introduced a model by which the government can meet its debt problem. Sargent and Wallace gave a solution to the problem of debt financing by printing money. This method is called "money financing." We will apply this …

Change Among Bedouins: An Exploratory Study In El-Hammam, Egypt, Neveen Gorgy Dawoud Azmy
Change Among Bedouins: An Exploratory Study In El-Hammam, Egypt, Neveen Gorgy Dawoud Azmy
Archived Theses and Dissertations
This research was triggered by an interest in examining the changes that took place in Bedouin communities, especially when it comes in the framework of a development process. The existing writings on this topic are divided into two camps: one maintains that change within Bedouin communities was very minimal, and to a great extent inconsequential, whereas, the other argues that changes therein were quite considerable. This thesis, through examining the local Awlad 'Ali community of elHammam, holds the latter view. Thus, the research traces the recent changes in their area and compares and contrasts the changes that their society has …

Autobiographical Fantasia: Kingston's The Woman Warrior And El Telmissany's Dunyazad, Marwa Mohammad Nur Eldin Ismail Elnaggar
Archived Theses and Dissertations
The thesis analyzes the use of imagination in two autobiographical works by two women authors, a Chinese-American and an Egyptian-Arab, respectively: Maxine Hong Kingston's The Woman Warrior, and May El Telmissany's Dunyazad. A definition of autobiography as a literary genre is explored through the critical debate between different scholars. In this debate, the fundamental nature of autobiography and its parameters are central issues. Several questions are posed-such as the degree of importance that truth has in determining how autobiographical a specific work is.
Both The Woman Warrior ( 1976) and Dunyazad ( 1997) are introduced
within the framework of this …
