Unintended Consequences Of Arousing Fear In Social Marketing, Nadine Henley, Rob Donovan
Unintended Consequences Of Arousing Fear In Social Marketing, Nadine Henley, Rob Donovan
Research outputs pre 2011
The intention of social marketers, by definition, is to contribute to social good. However, an unintended consequence of the frequent use of fear-arousal in social marketing may be the creation of a sense of helplessness both in the target market and in unintended markets. Salinity Action Plan : Wetland Vegetation Monitoring, 1998/1999, R. Gurner, G. Ogden, R. H. Froend
Research outputs pre 2011
This report represents the vegetation component of a project designed to provide on-going monitoring of wetland salinity and biological resources in wetlands of the agricultural zone of south-west Western Australia. Maintenance of wetland biological diversity in the agricultural zone is one of the major objectives of the Salinity Action Plan. Due to their low position in the landscape, wetlands are the habitat most affected by salinisation...

The centenary of women's suffrage in Western Australia in 1899 has presented many moments to reflect upon and evaluate women's experiences, to recognise and respond to the diversity of women's lives and concerns. This special issue of the International Review of Women and Leadership is one contribution to a year's activities marking that centenary.
Millicent Poole's preface discusses the genesis of these papers in a successful series of seminars in 1998 hosted by the Centre for Research for Women which attested, each fortnight, to the energy, intellectual rigour and vibrancy of participants. Poole contextualises the seminar series by pointing out …

The project reported on here set out, on a basis of cooperation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal investigators working in university, educational system and classroom contexts, to lead to understandings which would enable a more accessible ("userfriendly") education to be provided for students in primary and secondary schools who are speakers of Aboriginal English.
Specifically, in the context of schools of the Education Department of Western Australia, the project sought to:
1. extend knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal English and its areas of contrast with standard Australian English;
2. provide clarification in the following under-researched areas of Aboriginal English:
