From Data To Impact: Integrating Research, Data Analysis, And Data Visualizations To Shape The Future Of Stroke Rehabilitation, Abigail Mcnaughton

Entry-Level Occupational Therapy Doctorate - Doctoral Capstone Symposium

This capstone project highlights the essential role of research in advancing occupational therapy (OT) practice and underscores the importance of data analysis and visualization in enhancing the communication and dissemination of research findings. Grounded in the Myers and Lotz Framework for Evidence-Based Practice and the CO-OP approach to problem-solving, the experience was structured around three core pillars: (1) gaining hands-on experience as a research therapist, (2) conducting in-depth data analysis, and (3) creating effective data visualizations to support scientific communication.

In 2017 the Library carried out an audit of Library signage. In line with graphic design best practice, institute guidelines, the Official Languages Act 2003, branding and design guidelines were developed. Design guidelines for people with a disability were also incorporated. A team was established to look after all signage design, marketing, and social media. Glocalization In Macedonia: English In Outdoor Advertising Messages, Pamela Morris

Outdoor advertising visuals from Skopje, Macedonia are analyzed in a content analysis. Images were photographed in the most heavily traveled areas of the city to secure a snapshot of culture and to analyze western influence. Media and linguistic imperialism, globalization and glocalization, along with advertising and communication strategies, are used to frame the investigation. Findings show that media companies are the leading advertisers, along with banks and entertainment. The majority of ads employed some form of English, although Macedonian and Cyrillic writing were also used.
