Benjamin U. Nwosu

Manuscript abstract:

IMPORTANCE:

The role of tobacco-smoke exposure on serum vitamin D concentration in US pediatric population is not known. We hypothesized that tobacco smoke exposure would increase the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in US children.

METHODS:

Representative national data were accessed from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2009-2010 databank on 2,263 subjects of ages 3 to 17 years. Subjects were categorized into two groups based on their age: children, if <10 >years; and youth if 10 to 17 years. Descriptive and multiple logistic regression analyses were conducted to determine the effect of serum cotinine-verified tobacco smoke …

Greek New Testament For Data Analysis, Keith L. Yoder

Keith L. Yoder

Updated: 18 December 2017
This Excel data file (compatible with Excel 2007 and later versions) is an extract of my working Greek New Testament database which I use for statistical and data analysis. It originated in the early 2000's from UBS3 data files in beta code I obtained from CCAT, and has since been evolving through countless changes and corrections. A flat-file table display such as Excel 2007+ is the best format suitable for Autofilter and VBA applications, without involving a more complex XML format. The file itself may be opened with Excel 2007 or later versions, or with the …

Enrichment And Heterogeneity Of Trace Elements At The Redox-Interface Of Fe-Rich Intertidal Sediments, Annabelle F. Keene, Scott G. Johnston, Richard T. Bush, Edward D. Burton, Leigh A. Sullivan, Matthew Dundon, Angus E. Mcelnea, C Doug Smith, Col R. Ahern, Bernard Powell

Professor Edward D Burton

Redox-interfacial sediments can undergo radical geochemical changes with oscillating tides. In this study, we examine trace element enrichment and availability, at both landscape and pedon-scales, in the surface sediments of a remediating acidic tidalwetland. Fe-rich sediments at the surface-water interface (0–10mmin depth) were collected across an elevation gradient spanning the supratidal to subtidal range. These sediments were analysed for solid phase Fe fractions and trace elements (As, Pb, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Zn, V, B, Co, Mo, Ba and U) via dilute HCl-extractions and total digests. Their concentrations were compared with those of underlying (0.05–0.65 m in depth) former sulfuric …

Changes In The Surface Water Chemistry At Low Tide In Drainage Channels At East Trinity Coastal Wetland, Cairns (August 2013), Nicholas J. Ward, Troy Shepherd, Richard T. Bush, Zhaohui Wang

Dr Nicholas J Ward

In this study surface water monitoring was undertaken at a number of locations at the East Trinity wetland site in August 2013 to gain an understanding of the flux of constituents from the drainage system. The monitoring period was set to co-inside with the extreme low-tide cycle to allow the best opportunity to measure flux.
