Eating disorders are serious illnesses that can impact physical and mental health. Increasingly, occupational therapists encounter this population in general psychiatric hospitals and treatment facilities, as well as specialized eating disorders treatment facilities. Yet, questions concerning the role of occupational therapy in the treatment of eating disorders remain. The purpose of this project is to increase the awareness of the role of occupational therapy in the treatment of eating disorders by providing a guide for effective treatment of these illnesses.
