Introduction

The problem as set forth in this thesis is to determine the correspondence of error between the voiced and unvoiced cognates "s" and "z" in children with articulatory disorders. It has been assumed that the correspondence of error type would be high due to the similarity of the sounds. Anderson, for example, says that "much of what is true with respect to "s" applies with equal force to its voiced analogue "z"." The problem of this research is to determine whether there is any correspondence between the respective errors on the sibilants "s" and "z" and if they correspond …

Assuming that the performance of duties not specifically on the head nurse level detract from her effectiveness as a head nurse, the problem of this study was to determine what proportion of time the head nurse spent in different activities, on what level of skill these activities were, where she performed them, with whom, and the duration of each activity.

This study was conducted on a selected medical unit of the Loma Linda Sanitarium and Hospital. The normative survey method as recommended by the Division of Nursing Resources was used. The morning and afternoon head nurses or their reliefs were …

An Evaluation Form For Professional Staff Nurses, Barbara Jean Brauer

Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects

The problem of this study was to develop an evaluation form to measure the differentiation in quality of nursing care given by professional staff nurses. It was hoped that the evaluation form could be used by administrators of nursing service as a basis for giving pay increases based on nursing performance.

A review of nursing literature did not reveal the existence of an evaluation form based on verifiable data of performance upon which an objective evaluation could be made.

The critical incident technique was used to gather the data for the study. The respondents were nursing supervisory personnel employed in …
