This study aimed to explore library and information science (LIS) students’ satisfaction with information and communication technology (ICT) facilities at LIS schools in the Punjab, Pakistan. It also identifies the factors that motivated the students to use ICT and the benefits that they gained from the ICT. The study employed the quantitative research method to address the research questions. Research Productivity Of Pakistani Authors In Library And Information Science; An Overview Of 2019 Publications, Ikram Ul Haq, Mumtaz Hussain Satti

Aim: The present study aims is to evaluate the research productivity of Pakistani Library Information Science (LIS) authors produced during the year 2019.

Methodology: The retrospective study technique was used to extract the dataset on LIS literature produced by Pakistani authors, from different online and print sources. The bibliographic information was inserted in Microsoft Excel-2016 for data analysis. The findings of the data have been presented in 3 tables and 2 figures.

The main objective of this study was to assess the status of ICT competencies of LIS professionals, methods of acquiring ICT skills and suggestions to survive in this digital era. A quantitative method was used and a self-administrated questionnaire distributed among 206 university library professionals working in Punjab through google form, and email. Collected data was analyzed through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).

This study has investigated the training initiatives undertaken for professional development of library professionals by different organizations in Pakistan to increase their competence to make them responsive to needs of library users and aggressively fulfill the needs of digital age.
