Teachers use questions every day to assess their students’ knowledge, allow for more practice with critical thinking, and to help promote collaborative, meaningful classroom discussions. This observational study aims to analyze the effect that the level of science-based questioning the Head Teacher uses has on the level of science-based questioning the students use in a Montessori classroom while they are learning science topics/concepts and/or using science related materials. Raymond Henry Fogler was born in South Hope, Maine in 1892 and died in Exeter, Maine in 1996. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1915 and received a graduate degree from Princeton University in 1917. His commitment to the University spanned 80 years and he served as president of the Board of Trustees, the Alumni Association, University of Maine Development Council, and the University of Maine Foundation. The library at the University of Maine was named the Raymond H. Fogler Library in 1962.

The Maine State College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts was established in 1865. The College opened on September 21, 1868. In 1897, the College changed its name to the University of Maine. A group of miscellaneous records regarding the history of the University of Maine from its founding. Items appear to have been curated and compiled over time by Fogler Library Special Collections staff to document key events, figures, and milestones in the University's early history. Most material is from the end of the Nineteenth century through to the mid Twentieth century.

The University of Maine has provided undergraduate education in social work and social welfare since the 1950's and began offering the BA degree in Social Work in 1972. The BSW program was granted initial accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) in 1979. The graduate program leading to the Master of Social Work degree was approved by the Board of Trustees in 1987. The University of Maine's School of Social Work (formerly Department of Social Work) was formed on July 1, 1989. The School is based in Annex C on the Orono campus and offers fully accredited BSW …
