The team reached the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time in school history and reached the regional semifinals. The program continued to excel in the 2003-04 season, posting a 31-4 record, the best in school history. The Warriors finished the season ranked fourth in the nation. The team won the Northeast-10 regular season and tournament titles to advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. The University of Maine (UMaine) College of Engineering proposes to partner with Bangor High School (BHS) to develop a model university/K-12 partnership based on the disciplinary theme of sensors. The proposed model integrates education and research for the benefit of BHS students and teachers, and graduate and advanced undergraduate students, and faculty, within the College of Engineering at UMaine. GK-12 Sensors! will involve faculty and students from the chemical, biological, electrical, computer, mechanical, civil/environmental, and spatial information engineering programs at the University of Maine. University of Maine Men's basketball coach Ted Woodward begins his third season at the helm of the Black Bears. Woodward returns a core of accomplished veteran players in addition to an exciting group of newcomers to highlight the upcoming season. Maine finished 12-16 during the 2005-06 season after key injuries to several Black Bears. All-Conference guard Kevin Reed sat out the season as a medical redshirt, while All-Rookie selection Philippe Tchekane Bofia missed several games as well during the season.

Head Coach Tim Whitehead enters his sixth season at the helm of the University of Maine men's ice hockey program. With Whitehead behind the bench, the Black Bears have continued the success that has defined the program for nearly two decades.

In his first five seasons as head coach, the Black Bears have advanced to the NCAA Tournament all five seasons, reached the NCAA National Championship game twice, played in three NCAA Frozen Fours and won the Hockey East Tournament Championship. This study was designed to investigate and describe the relationship among resilience, forgiveness and anger expression in adolescents. The purpose of the study was to explore whether certain adolescent resiliencies significantly related to positive or negative affective, behavioral, or cognitive levels of forgiveness and certain types of anger expression in adolescents. This study also investigated whether there were certain adolescent resiliencies and types of forgiveness that can predict lower levels of negative anger expression in adolescents. Much of physics education research (PER) has focused on introductory courses and topics, with less research done into how students learn physics in advanced courses. Members of The University of Maine Physics Education Research Laboratory (PERL) have begun studying how students in advanced physics courses reason about classical mechanics, thermal physics, and quantum physics. Here, we describe an investigation into how students reason about quantum mechanical tunneling, and detail how those findings informed a portion of a curriculum development project.
