I Banchetti Rinascimentali Come Una Forma Di Relazioni Internazionali, Sofia Gatti Dec 2023

I Banchetti Rinascimentali Come Una Forma Di Relazioni Internazionali, Sofia Gatti

Studi Alimentari Italiani E Geologia: Vino E Vulcani Da Diverse Prospettive, Maria Varriale Gomez

Italian Renaissance Foodways

(Disclaimer: Zine is in Italian)

In this zine, I explore how people in Renaissance Italy show themselves in their food and other items you may find at a dinner party, such as a maiolica or a fork. What does your food and your habits say about you as a person, where you came from, and your culture? I dissect specific instances in how some items reveal more about your behavior than you may think.

2020 Culture Shift: Measuring Covid-19 Impact On San Diego Arts And Culture Nonprofits, Thomas Abruzzo, Laura Deitrick, Christine Jones, Jonathan Glus

Arts and Culture

To better understand the impacts of the pandemic on City-funded arts and culture nonprofits and their workforce, The Nonprofit Institute at the University of San Diego – on behalf of the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture – conducted a survey of arts and culture organizations funded by the City in fiscal year 2020. In that year, the City invested $11.4 million in arts and culture organizations. In fiscal year 2021, the City was forced to reduced annual funding to approximately $5.7 million due to drastically reduced tax revenues. Eight months into the pandemic, many City-funded arts …

Ethnic Studies Student Zines

Hello and Welcome to our Zine!! We are so happy you stopped by! :) We were presented the opportunity to create a zine on Asian American studies through Josen Diaz’s ETHN course. We had the opportunity to explore different Asian American cultures, their history, and their influence on American culture and politics. This project allowed us to relate all of the historical readings from the Chinese Exclusion Act and the world wars to events that occur today. Over the semester, we developed our overall knowledge …

Bringing The Marginalized Into Conversations About American Raciality, Erin Kane, Keely Gaeta, Emily Norris

Ethnic Studies Student Zines

In this collection of analyses that explore the multi-faceted Asian American identity, we hoped to speak honestly about the Asian American condition. The Asian American condition is one of constantly being without a seat at the table of the American racial consciousness. This zine delves into Asian American identity through the lenses of history, psychology, and lived experience. The historical perspective of Asian American identity has been explored at the hands of the “benevolent” West. History is written by the victors. For Asian Americans, the victor has always been the United States meaning that the interpretation of their identity has …
