Responding To Stakeholders’ Critical Needs- The Integrative Model Of Stakeholders’ Management (Imsm), Grace S. Thomson 2010 Nevada State College

Responding To Stakeholders’ Critical Needs- The Integrative Model Of Stakeholders’ Management (Imsm), Grace S. Thomson

Dr. Grace S. Thomson

Organizations are increasingly required to enhance their accountability to diverse internal and external stakeholders (Burrows, 1999). Knowing and understanding stakeholders’ expectations increases the ability of an organization to effectively respond to those expectations. Stakeholder relationship management is critical for corporate sustainability (Perrini & Tencati, 2006) or “capacity of a firm to continue operating over a long period of time” (p. 296). Organizations may benefit from developing collaborative interactions with their stakeholders, integrating their values and views into the formulation and implementation of organizational goals and objectives (Merrick, Parnell, Barnett & Garcia, 2005; Susniene & Vanagas, 2006).

Split Estate, Thomas A. Ipri

Library Faculty Publications

The concept of a split estate refers to the fact that owners of a property do not necessarily own the minerals and resources that reside under the property.
Debra Anderson’s Split Estate highlights the more damning aspects of this oddity by documenting how oil and gas companies are setting up shop on home
owner’s land. In some instances, oil rigs are constructing within 100 feet of people’s homes.

The Last Days Of Shismaref, Thomas A. Ipri 2010 University of Nevada, Las Vegas

The Last Days Of Shismaref, Thomas A. Ipri

Library Faculty Publications

The Last Days of Shishmaref chronicles the lives of several families who live in the eponymous village in northwest Alaska as the effects of global warming begin to decimate their surroundings. This beautifully filmed and meditative documentary focuses on the lives of the Inupiaq Eskimo villagers and does not overtly politicize the often volatile issue of the causes of global warming. The film is more concerned with the effects of climate change rather than the causes.

Elitist Corruption And The Anti-Corruption Crusade In Nigeria, Ozy B. Orluwene Jp

Dr Ozy B.Orluwene,JP

Abstract Corruption is a global phenomenon and as such not unique to Nigeria. Its effects we argue vary from one society to the other due to differences in level of economic development and commitments to anti corruption measures. However, corruption has become so prevalent in Nigeria that almost all governance crises, economic woes and development predicament are attributed to the problem. The paper examines the situations in the country and argues that it is indeed a serious problem. This cankerworm is so systematic as it is fuelled by patron-client politics and patronage system in government and other sectors of the …

Regionalne Programy Operacyjne - Próba Porównania Struktury Wydatków, Dariusz Woźniak, Marek Reichel

Dariusz Woźniak

The main goal of this paper is to compare the 16 regional operational programmes (ROPs) for years 2007-2013. The fundamental criterion of the comparison is the allocation of ROPs’ funds (financed by the European Regional Development Fund) for the priority themes, listed in the Commission Regulation (EC) No 1828/2006 of 8 December 2006. The structure is as follows. In the first part the general characteristic of ROPs is presented. The differences and similarities of ROPs are described in the second section. The last part consists of conclusions.
