Background: To maintain curricular integrity in response to COVID-19, nurse educators are increasingly required to transition from traditional (face-to-face) to virtual pedagogy. Objectives: The purpose of this analysis was to compare the HESI scores based on a traditional pedagogy with the HESI scores following implementation of virtual pedagogy during Spring 2020. Methods: Student (n = 115; 81% female; mean age = 25.71 years) HESI scores were compared after each eightweek session using the Mann Whitney U test, permutation test and Wilcoxon rank test. Screen time usage is a major factor leading to negative behavioral and health consequences in young children. Screen time also affects sleep, with prior research showing a significant association between screen time, particularly at bedtime, and reduced sleep duration and increased sleep problems. The initial aim of this research was to measure and attempt to increase, through an educational intervention, the knowledge, perceived self-efficacy, and confidence of study participants/primary caregivers with regard to limiting the bedtime screen use of their preschoolers with the goal of health promotion. Critical access hospitals (CAHs) encounter unique challenges in terms of providingquality resources to their community, often lacking quality measures and continuity comparable to larger regional and tertiary hospitals. One CAH in rural Minnesota implemented an overnight hospitalist telemedicine service to address concerns with provider resources and quality practice. An evaluation of quality improvement implementation was completed to address data regarding ER transfers and inpatient length of stay (LOS). Background: Children are a vulnerable population who are at risk for a variety of developmental, behavioral and family concerns. Early intervention leads to improved outcomes. By implementing the comprehensive evidence-based screening tool the Survey of Well-being for Young Children (SWYC), within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), outcomes for these children may be improved through early intervention.

Elders with dementia often experience depression, as well as behaviors such as agitation or wandering. Antipsychotic medications have been used to manage behaviors in dementia, but these medications can have serious side effects. Background: In the past six years, there has been a steady rise in the number of reported cases of chlamydia and gonorrhea in the United States. Expedited partner therapy (EPT) refers to the practice of treating partners of patients diagnosed with specific treatable sexually transmitted infections without first evaluating them. This treatment was recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2006 and it is currently legalized in 45 states and the District of Columbia. Background: The number of newborns exposed to opiates quadrupled in the United States from 1999 to 2014, from 1.5 per 1,000 hospital deliveries to 6.5 per 1,000. Many of these babies are admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit for neonatal abstinence withdrawal syndrome. While neonatal nurses are trained to care for babies exposed to substances in utero, they often struggle to meet the unique psychosocial needs of the babies’ parents. Background: Post-intensive care syndrome (PICS) occurs in approximately 50% of ICU survivors and increases risk of mortality and hospital readmission while decreasing quality of life. There were no national guidelines for diagnosis or treatment of PICS at the time of the completion of this project.
