Departmental Papers (Dental)
The aim of this longitudinal study was to evaluate the sagittal and vertical growth of the maxillo–mandibular complex in untreated children using orthogonal lateral cephalograms com-pressed from cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Two sets of scans, on 12 males (mean 8.75 years at T1, and 11.52 years at T2) and 18 females (mean 9.09 years at T1, and 10.80 years at T2), were analyzed using Dolphin 3D imaging. The displacements of the landmarks and rotations of both jaws relative to the cranial base were measured using the cranial base, and the maxillary and mandibular core lines. From T1 to T2, …

Journal of Mind and Medical Sciences
Congenital epulis is a rare benign tumor of the newborn that could be detected in the prenatal period. Females are more often affected than males and the premaxillary region is usually the predilection site for this oral mass. Excision is the treatment of choice and no recurrences have been reported so far.
We present our experience with two cases of congenital epulis, detected in the second trimester of gestation and treated shortly after birth with no further complications. Histopathology should differentiate between congenital epulis and other congenital oral tumors even if its clinical appearance is usually enough to make a …

Dental hygiene is an important contributor to our overall health. Poor dental hygiene practices can lead to plaque buildup, cavities formation, tooth decay, and infection. Infection that began as a result of poor oral hygiene can spread to other parts of the body and cause more serious conditions to develop. Dental health is not a priority among Ghanaian residents and there is a need for updated, evidence based research about this topic. This literature review focuses on community health nursing in Ghana, Africa regarding dental hygiene of the pediatric population in this country. The primary focus is to compare the …

Departmental Papers (Dental)
Although regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) have become one of the widely accepted treatment modalities for necrotic immature teeth with apical periodontitis, little is known about the long-term outcomes and the effect of orthodontic tooth movement on this procedure. This report presents a case that underwent two REPs and orthodontic treatment over a period of seven years. A 9-year-old male was referred for evaluation of traumatized maxillary central incisors. Based on clinical and radiographic examinations, a diagnosis of pulp necrosis with acute apical abscess was established. REP was performed for both teeth, and the patient was brought in for follow-up annually. …
