Prelude to a Master Plan offers ideas, recommendations, and a toolkit to help the town chart its own path towards that future. While the teams and individual students worked to ‘drill down’ into specific topic areas, the Studio defined three basic areas in order to think about how the various assets, challenges and ideas undermine or reinforce one another. the Purpose of this study is to assess the impact of discrimination on rental housing opportunities in Massachusetts. We obtained information on the numbers and types of housing discrimination cases filed in Massachusetts with federal, state, and private non-profit fair housing organizations. A total of 3,431 complaints were reported in Massachusetts from the period of 1990 to April 1998. Our findings indicate clearly, that rental housing discrimination exist in the state of Massachusetts. This report was designed to begin the community renewal program for Liberty-Taylor Industrial Corridor located in Springfield, Massachusetts. The objectives of the report was to describe current conditions the Liberty-Taylor Corridor; to analyze and update previous planning studies of the Corridor; to identify key roadblocks to investment in the Corridor, and to present possible solutions in order to stimulate reinvestment.
