School District Enrollment Forecast Reports

The Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) enrolled 12,595 students in Fall 2008, an increase of 135 students (1.1 percent) from Fall 2007. Growth was concentrated in elementary and middle grades, with increases of 99 students (1.7 percent) in grades K-5 and 36 students (1.3 percent) in grades 6-8. District-wide enrollment in high school grades 9-12 was unchanged from Fall 2007. School District Enrollment Forecast Reports

The area served by the Ashland School District (ASD) has experienced population and housing growth in recent years, but the District's K-12 school enrollment of 2,627 students in Fall 2008 was 703 students (21 percent) fewer than it enrolled in Fall 2000. The long period of falling enrollment began after the 1993-94 school year; enrollment has not grown by more than a few students in any year since. School District Enrollment Forecast Reports

This report presents Enrollment Forecasts prepared by the Portland State University Population Research Center (PRC) exploring three possible scenarios for BSD enrollment during the next 17 years based on different assumptions about future net migration and fertility rates. The study includes analysis of population, housing and enrollment trends affecting the District in recent years and forecasts of district-wide enrollments by grade level for the 2009-10 to 2025-26 school years.

The McMinnville School District (MSD) has experienced nearly uninterrupted enrollment growth for more than 20 years due to a growing economy and rapid housing and population growth within its boundaries. By Fall 2007, total K-12 enrollment reached 6,327 students. The Fall 2007 enrollment was an increase of 97 students over Fall 2006, and amounted to 735 more K-12 students than five years earlier, in 2002-03. During the five year period, elementary schools added 371 students (14 percent), middle schools added 171 students (13 percent), and high schools added 193 students (11 percent). This report presents the results of a study conducted by the Population Research Center (PRC) to address long-range planning needs of Marion County and to produce population forecasts at the county and sub-county level. This report considers recent and historical demographic changes experienced within the County and provides forecasts from 2010 to 2030 in 5-year intervals. Expected future populations that result from the most-likely demographic trends throughout Marion County are presented in this report for all cities in the County.

School District Enrollment Forecast Reports

The area served by the Phoenix-Talent School District (PTSD) has experienced population and housing growth in recent years, but the District’s K-12 school enrollment of 2,708 students in 2007-08 was five percent lower than its 1999-00 peak of 2,839. The enrollment decline is largely attributed to the smaller elementary classes of the early 2000s, compared with the peak enrollments of the middle to late 1990s. Middle school enrollment peaked in 2003-04, and high school enrollment peaked in 2005-06. School District Enrollment Forecast Reports

To address their long-range planning needs, The Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) requested that PRC prepare 10 year Enrollment Forecasts for the District and each of its existing schools. This forecast for the 2008-09 through 2017-18 school years has been prepared as a supplement to the 2008-09 to 2012-13 forecast that was presented to the TTSD Board in December, 2007. Forecasts for 2008-09 and 2009-10 for the District and its schools are identical to those published in December, and secondary school forecasts are unchanged through 2012-13. This report contains the annual population estimates for Oregon, and its counties, incorporated cities and towns, and unincorporated areas for July 1, 2007. Included are estimates that are summarized by unincorporated and incorporated areas at the State level, as well as by metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas. At the end of this report there are 6 maps showing county-level population estimates for 2007 or population change from 2000 to 2007. There is also a county reference map that shows locations of cities throughout Oregon.

This report presents the results of a study conducted by the Portland State University Population Research Center (PRC) concluding that the District should expect enrollment growth in the long run, although the forecasts for the next three to four years are for stable or slightly declining K-12 enrollments. Two forecast scenarios are presented, a “HIGH SCENARIO” forecast that is consistent with the population forecast recently adopted in the City of Banks Comprehensive Plan, and a “LOW SCENARIO” forecast under which housing development and migration trends remain similar to their recent levels. Since 1997-98, Reynolds School District (RSD) overall K-12 enrollment has increased by 28 percent, from 8,452 students in 1997-98 to 10,815 in 2007-08, with most of the growth occurring between 1998-99 and 2003-04. After one year with little enrollment change (2004-05), the district has added 452 students in the most recent three years.
