Friendships In Gamers And Non-Gamers, Christina M. Frederick, Tianxin Zhang
Friendships In Gamers And Non-Gamers, Christina M. Frederick, Tianxin Zhang
Publications
Online social technologies, such as email, social networking applications, texting and others, are now used by a majority of individuals in the U.S. (Pew, 2018a). As a result, it is not uncommon to develop friendships with others that are conducted primarily in an online environment. However, we know little about the qualities of online friendships and how they may, or may not, differ from traditional face to face friendships. The present study focused on exploring friendship quality in online and offline domains using two groups: a gamer group and a non-gamer group that used non-gaming applications to connect with others …
Identifying Criteria To Predict Army Rifle Marksmanship Proficiency, Katlin Makina Anglin
Identifying Criteria To Predict Army Rifle Marksmanship Proficiency, Katlin Makina Anglin
Doctoral Dissertations and Master's Theses
The United States Army requires each Soldier to develop marksmanship proficiency in an effort to achieve combat readiness. Soldiers currently develop marksmanship proficiency through Basic Rifle Marksmanship (BRM) training, but significant skill deficiencies are apparent at the end of training. These skill deficiencies remain throughout training because instructors rarely assess Soldiers objectively before the final qualification, reducing the opportunity for instructors to diagnose skill deficiencies until it is too late. Therefore, the goal of the current research is to identify individual differences and sensor-based performance measures for inclusion in a formative assessment during BRM training. The results of the current …

To investigate enjoyment, a new measure of enjoyment applicable to any activity was developed using current best practices of scale development and validation.
The new instrument measures enjoyment of any activity, called the ENJOY scale. The ENJOY scale has 5 subscales and demonstrated good content …
Effect Of Tactile Feedback On Performance, Darren Paul Wilson
Effect Of Tactile Feedback On Performance, Darren Paul Wilson
Master's Theses - Daytona Beach
Humans interact with their environment by obtaining information from various modalities of sensing. These various modalities of sensing combine to facilitate manipulation and interaction with objects and the environment. The way humans interact with computers mirrors this environmental interaction with the absence of feedback from the tactile channel. The majority of computer operation is completed visually because currently, the primary feedback humans receive from computers is through the eyes. This strong dependence on the visual modality can cause visual fatigue and fixation on displays, resulting in errors and a decrease in performance. Distributing tasks and information across sensory modalities could …
