This study explores how Latinxs understand their racial identity and how colorism emerges, develops and evolves in the lives of Latinxs. We want to look into how racial identity affects race and color perceptions and relationships in the community. Data in this study came from 10 individuals who participated through in-person interviews or submitted a paper survey between March 2018 and March 2019. The patterns that emerged in this research demonstrate a challenge and confusion to Latinx racial identity. Familial influence is a way that colorism and racial identity is formed and understood. Specifically, the study documents the multifaceted social, economic, and cultural factors that influence the ways in which these women construct and give meaning to their diasporic experiences. However, given the relative novelty of social justice as an academic field, there remains a lack of clarity about what exactly social justice encompasses. What principles of inquiry, theory, and practice unify social justice as an academic field? Is there a consistent, coherent conceptualization of social justice and social change agency among social justice faculty? Are there social-historical conditions that foster the development of social justice programs in universities? These questions guided this research project.

The focus of this work is to examine community gardens in Central Minnesota (specifically within the three-county area of Benton, Sherburne, and Stearns counties). This paper utilizes qualitative methodologies to compare and contrast community gardens in the area, with attention given to historic context, participation (or lack of) within the community gardening movement, and current community values. Emphasis is given to the differentiation between levels of community within the construct of community gardens as social spaces, as well as the development of the concept of the community garden network among the eighteen gardens studied.

This study uses a qualitative research methodology approach to explore the conflict of interest among coastal resource users and the development process in Bagamoyo town. The samples were purposively chosen to reflect the diversity of environmental conditions, socio-economic status and opportunities available to local coastal communities like fishing and farming. The total number of respondents interviewed for this study was thirty-three. I used narrative stories through in-depth interviews of the respondents, documented information and a focus group comprising of 10 respondents, who did not participate in the in-depth interviews, to discuss the issues.

In an attempt to alleviate poverty and empower poor people, many NGOs and government agencies have been providing credit and social services to rural women in the Kasoa district of Ghana. The goal of these credit schemes is to help the rural poor, especially women earn a living through their on-going income generating activities.

This study found that micro-credit programs are very helpful in empowering rural women to enhance their economic activities to meet the needs of their families as well as afford them the opportunity to contribute in household decisions.
