The purpose of this study was to determine the impact wraparound services has on Riverside County dependents that have a history of running away. The wraparound process is characterized by planning and problem solving, respect for values, culture, and expertise. It includes collaboration and consists of family driven and youth guided goal structure and decisions. It focuses on individualization, opportunities for choice, evaluating strategies, and recognition. This research was conducted, studying six closed cases provided by Olive Crest, a non-profit agency. Welfare-To-Work Programs In America, 1980 To 2005: Meta-Analytic Evidence Of The Importance Of Job And Child Care Availability, Kevin M. Gorey

This meta-analysis extended a Campbell Collaboration review of welfare-to-work programs. Its synthesis of 65 randomized trials in America over the past generation replicated a small overall intervention effect. Moreover, it found (1) there was no long-term employment effect of interventions in areas where jobs were relatively unavailable, and (2) programs that provided child care were more effective than those that did not in the short and long term, even in areas of high labor market withdrawal. The purpose of this study was to identify salient factors contributing to the overrepresentation of African Americans in the child welfare system. This study seeks to examine whether or not public child welfare workers are biased in their assessments of African Americans, and if years of experience influence their judgment. By understanding some of the salient factors that contribute to these disproportionate numbers, Child Welfare Services can begin to revamp their programs and services to ensure that they are more culturally sensitive and equitable.

Child-care providers are among the lowest paid wageworkers in the United States. Nationwide, less than 5 percent of child-care providers are represented by labor unions. This article addresses the question: How can family child-care providers be effectively organized? The author describes and analyzes Local 880 Service Employees International Union's effort to organize family child-care providers in Illinois. Adapting the grassroots-organizing model that they developed to organize homecare workers, Local 880 has over 2,200 signed authorization cards and over 1,500 members in the family child-care union. The qualitative research study focuses on barriers of services to foster youth that reside in a group home placement in Riverside County. To obtain data regarding this issue, fifteen group home providers were administered a questionnaire pertaining to the concerns and problems associated with service delivery when attempting to attain services for foster youth. The results of the study reveal that fragmentation of services largely exists in Riverside County, and further suggest an array of reasons associated with this breakdown of services.
