Towards An Assessment Framework Of Reuse: A Knowledge Level Analysis Approach, Ghassan Beydoun, Achim Hoffmann, Rafael Valencia-Garcia, Jun Shen, Asifqumer Gill

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

The process of assessing the suitability of reuse of a software component is complex. Indeed, software systems are typically developed as an assembly of existing components. The complexity of the assessment process is due to lack of clarity on how to compare the cost of adaptation of an existing component versus the cost of developing it from scratch. Indeed, often pursuit of reuse can lead to excessive rework and adaptation, or developing suites of components that often get neglected. This paper is an important step towards modelling the complex reuse assessment process. To assess the success factors that can underpin ...

Emerging Insights Of Health Informatics Research: A Literature Analysis For Outlining New Themes, Shah Miah, Jun Shen, John W. Lamp, Don Kerr, John Gammack Jan 2019

Emerging Insights Of Health Informatics Research: A Literature Analysis For Outlining New Themes, Shah Miah, Jun Shen, John W. Lamp, Don Kerr, John Gammack

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

This paper presents a contemporary literature review to provide insights into the current health informatics literature. The objective of this study is to identify emerging directions of current health informatics research from the latest and existing studies in the health informatics domain. We analyse existing health informatics studies using a thematic analysis, so that justified sets of research agenda can be outlined on the basis of these findings. We selected articles that are published in the Science Direct online database. The selected 73 sample articles (published from 2014 to 2018 in premier health informatics journals) are considered as representative samples ...

A New Shock-Wave Test Apparatus For Liquid Co2 Blasting And Measurement Analysis, Ying Chen, Hongwei Zhang, Zhijie Zhu, Ting X. Ren, Chen Cao, Feng Zhu, Yunpeng Li

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

Liquid CO 2 blasting of coal or rock body technology is widely used for improving permeability, pressure relief, cutting proof, and roadway development. Due to the lack of proper apparatus for blasting measurement, the determination of blasting parameters is often not under scientific basis. A newly designed experimental apparatus is developed to monitor shock-wave pressure of liquid CO 2 blasting. The apparatus mainly consists of testing tube and base bracket. The testing tube is fixed on the base bracket by fixed ring. The base bracket is fixed to the ground by expansion bolts to ensure the stability of the apparatus ...
