The coronavirus 2019 pandemic introduced a new array of daily stressors, known as daily hassles, to the lives of university students. This study used the Stress, Appraisal, and Coping theory (Lazarus & Folkman, 1984) to understand how university students were affected by daily hassles and how they were coping with hassles-based stress, as well as how their companion animals provided social support during the stress and coping process. While studies have shown that racial microaggressions are common and recurring experiences for racial minority therapists, Asians are underrepresented in the existing research. The present study examined Asian Canadian therapists’ lived experiences with racial microaggressions and their coping responses in clinical practice and professional settings. Semi-structured interviews were conducted through the online Microsoft Teams platform with nine Asian therapists. The interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim, and data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Two relevant superordinate themes emerged from the analysis. The current study investigated the psychosocial and cultural predictors of psychological help-seeking based on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA: Ajzen and Fishbein 1980) in a sample of 223 adult Latin American immigrants living in Canada. Using path analysis, the results provided empirical support for the TRA, as both help-seeking attitudes and subjective norms were found to influence participants’ help-seeking intentions. Moreover, the re-specified culturally-expanded model showed a good fit to the data and revealed the direct and indirect effects that bi-directional acculturation (Latino and Canadian Cultural orientations), familism, and collective coping had on help-seeking intentions. The present study sets out to examine the spirituality-coping-health link in a culturally and religiously diverse undergraduate sample (N = 301) in Canada. Specifically, this investigation: (a) assessed intrinsic spirituality with a factorially derived measure, created based on a multidimensional measure of spirituality; (b) tested the mediating role of coping in the spirituality-psychological well-being relation with a validated cross-cultural measure of coping; and (c) examined this complex, multivariate web of relationships with a path analysis. The results showed that Intrinsic Spirituality reduced Psychological Distress, promoted the use of Collective Coping, and reduced the use of Avoidance Coping. Furthermore, Engagement Coping …
