The effects of the kappa opioid agonist U-50,488 on morphine-induced condtioned place preference (CPP), locomotor activity and Fos immunoreactivity and assessed in 10-, 17- and 35-day old rats. It was predicted that kappa agonist treatment would block the unconditioned and conditioned behaviors produced by morhine (a mu opioid receptor agonist).

A social analog of a short-delay conditioning paradigm in Pavlovian learning was used to test the prediction that under certain conditions, human causal judgments would reflect acquired response properties that can be either increased (augmented) or decreased (discounted). The learning experiment was masked by describing it as a study testing a computerized employee evaluation system.

Attitudes Toward Old People And Beliefs About Aging: A Generational Study, Julie Ann Miles

Attitudes toward the elderly were examined in three generations through analysis of media use, gender, contact with elderly, age, factual knowledge about aging, and parental influence on attitude formation. The results revealed that age, factual knowledge, perceived ageism in mass media and parental influence were significantly related to attitude toward the elderly.

An Exploratory Study Of Student Attitudes Toward Statistics And Their Retention Of Statistical Concepts, Linda Araki

The purpose of this exploratory research was to investigate potential factors (i.e. gender, time lapse between the latest statistics class and completion of the statistics test, grade point average (GPA), attitude towards statistics), which are associated with the comprehension and retention of statistical knowledge in Baccalaureate Psychology students. The criterion variable was statistical competency, which was measured in five subdomains: basic concepts, descriptives, correlation/regression, hypothesis testing, and inferential statistics.

The purpose of this study was to examine the origins of the Multicultural Relational Model of therapy and demonstrate the application of this model in the clinical setting. Subjects were two ethnic minority children, a Hispanic boy, age nine, and a mixed-race boy, age 10, who was adopted by an African American family.
