Training A Parent To Teach Her Autism Spectrum Disorder Child To Use An Independent Activity Schedule, Tessa Lynne Bryan
Training A Parent To Teach Her Autism Spectrum Disorder Child To Use An Independent Activity Schedule, Tessa Lynne Bryan
Theses Digitization Project
The purpose of this study was to train the parents of an ASD child (who was not receiving prior intervention services) to teach their child to use an Independent Activity Schedule (IAS) to enable him to engage in short periods of appropriate, independent play without adult prompting and/or disruptive, stereotypical behaviors. Teaching the parent (s) to utilize this technique will benefit the child in that his/her parent (s) are usually with him/her and would thus be able to use the IAS with him/her continuously.
Self-Efficacy Among Parents Of Children With Autism As A Function Of Length Of Time In Home-Based Applied Behavioral Analysis Treatment, Carmen Maria Ruiz-Ochoa
Self-Efficacy Among Parents Of Children With Autism As A Function Of Length Of Time In Home-Based Applied Behavioral Analysis Treatment, Carmen Maria Ruiz-Ochoa
Theses Digitization Project
The purpose of this project was to explore parental self-efficacy among parents of children with autism receiving home-based Applied Behavioral Analysis (A.B.A.) treatment. Applied Behavioral Analysis (A.B.A.) is defined as the use of information acquired through the science of observable behavior analysis to facilitate the improvement of behaviors that are socially important. Twenty-one mothers and eight fathers of children with autism receiving home- based (A.B.A.) treatment services from a southern California non-public agency participated in this project. Participating parents completed three questionnaires: a socio-demographic measure, the Self-Efficacy for Parenting Task Index - (SEPTI), and the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale, Second …
The Effects Of Competiton On Adult Circumstantial Efficacy, Matthew Aaron Bender
The Effects Of Competiton On Adult Circumstantial Efficacy, Matthew Aaron Bender
Theses Digitization Project
The purpose of this study was to expand the knowledge and understanding of circumstantial efficacy and replicate and expand on the findings of Ganzach et al (2008). The author designed a computer dice game specifically for this study to examine how the size of a win or loss moderates the effects performance on curcumstantial and internal efficacy beliefs.
Means Efficacy: The Proposed Role Of External Resources On Motivation, Marissa Marie Jones
Means Efficacy: The Proposed Role Of External Resources On Motivation, Marissa Marie Jones
Theses Digitization Project
Means Efficacy is the belief in the utility of the resources that are necessary to complete a specific task. This research examined the relationship between means-efficacy and self-efficacy on perceptions of resources, perceptions of abilities, peformance expectations and actual peformance. This study sought to expand on the means efficacy literature by demonstrating the separate but parallel roles of the means efficacy and self-efficacy constructs on the the self-regulatory process.

Artists And Crooks: A Correlational Examination Of Creativity And Criminal Thinking, Luis Daniel GascóN
Theses Digitization Project
This study explores some of the possible correlations between creativity and criminal thinking evident in the literature in an attempt to link the two forms of cognition. An understanding of the concept of Malevolent Creativity can serve the purpose of elucidating another component of the criminal personality.

Developing A Tool To Assess Mother-Child Attachment, Lisa Rebecca Romero
Theses Digitization Project
The Maternal Attachment Inventory - Revised (MAI-R) developed by Mary Müller in 1994, was used to examine attachment qualities between mothers and children enrolled in an Early Head Start program. Each mother's ratings of her attachment to her child was compared to teachers' perceptions of the mother's attachment to her child.
Some Factors That Effect [Sic] Statistical Power In Ancova: A Population Study, Valerie Maria Tvedt
Some Factors That Effect [Sic] Statistical Power In Ancova: A Population Study, Valerie Maria Tvedt
Theses Digitization Project
A study into the factors that affect power in an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) design were examined. Four factors - sample size, significance level, dependent variable-covariate correlations and homogeneity of regression - were varied in a population study. Results indicate that power increased when the dependent variable-covariate correlations increased and when sample size increased. Power also increased when a less stringent alpha level was used. Homogeneity of regression did not effect power. Implications and recommendations for the applied researcher are discussed.
