Iran has been in disarray following the United States exit from the JCPOA in 2018. It is due to the increasing number of sanctions reimposed by the West, which harms the Iranian economy. With the current economic downturn, Iran, under President Ebrahim Raisi's leadership, has made efforts to become completely independent from the West by establishing the Look East Policy as its foreign policy. How did France’s refusal to take part in the war on Iraq in 2003 has created the conditions that legitimizes its future military interventions abroad? In this paper, a discourse analysis of the official French Foreign Policy Discourse is done to show why saying no to war in 2003 paradoxically allows France to carry out military interventions in 2015. This research assesses the motives of Saudi Arabia’s aid to Yemen. Saudi Arabia has been the most significant donor to the country whilst threatening humanitarian conditions in Yemen through its military intervention. Thus, this research aims to unveil the Kingdom’s reasons to provide foreign aid to Yemen whilst doing the military intervention.
