Library Users Opinion About Library Professional Staff Help To Users In University Libraries: A Study, Kona Ramakrishna, Rudraksha Gowridevi, Chagari Sasikala

Library users opinion about library professional staff help to users in university library: a study in deemed to be university libraries, Andhra Pradesh, India. In this study distributed 1164 questionnaires to library users and received 1030 responses, the response rate is 88%. The study revealed that the response rate among the faculty fluctuated between 71 and 100, among the research scholars it ranged between 68 and 91 percent and among Post Graduate students it varied between 84 and 95 percent. The Study examined usefulness of library and Information Services in Deemed to be University libraries in Andhra Pradesh. In this study the questionnaires were circulated among 1164 library users (nearly 20% of the Universe) (faculty members, research scholars and postgraduate students) out of whom 1030 responses were received representing 88 percent of the total sample to whom the questionnaire was distributed. It is evident from the analysis that majority of users opinioned book lending service as effective. Purpose: Healthy organizational climate have an important role in the promotion of customer services. The aim of this research is to evaluate the organizational climate of the college libraries and its relation to the clients’ satisfaction.

Methodology: Research population is the staff and the clients of the college libraries of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The climateQUAL questionnaire was used to assess the libraries organizational climate. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to evaluate clients’ satisfaction. Descriptive statistics and Spearman’s correlation coefficient were applied in SPSS 19 for data analysis.

The aims of this research are to describe digital preservation strategies conducted by two selected academic libraries in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia. This research uses the qualitative approach with data collection method through interview. The results indicate that respondent libraries have made efforts to implement digital preservation activities, in order to protect their digital data and collection. This study recommends that the lack of official policy according to digital preservation should be followed up by providing a preservation policy.

This study investigated operational challenges of providing library services to long distance learners at higher education institutions in Uganda. The study adopted a survey research design, and the population was drawn from distance learners and librarians at Uganda Martyrs University (UMU). Quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed, online Google Form questionnaires were sent to 50 distance learners and 5 library staff. A total of 33 and 4 filled questionnaires were received back from students and library staff respectively and registering a response rate of 74%. The purpose of the study is to identify the sources provided by the universities of India to visually impaired persons to cater their educational requirements. There are 49 Central Universities in India, out of which 15 were selected for the study.
