An Evaluation Of A Library Skills Workbook For Beginning College Students, David Dean Alleman

The quasi-experimental study was undertaken to evaluate the usefulness of the library skills workbook for beginning students at Hillsdale College. The pretest was administered to five sections of a freshman English course. Five other sections, which analysis of SAT, ACT, and first semester GPA figures indicated were similar to the pretest group, constituted experimental and control groups. The experimental group completed the workbook and a research project. The minimally and moderately instructed groups received instruction and completed a library based project.
